- Under the night sky, the dock was alight with bonfires. Men sat on stacks of cargo, their faces beaming with smiles as they enjoyed the evening. Mack had organized a bonfire party at the dock to welcome Matthew, Tertius, and the others.
- Matthew sat on the edge of the dock with Mack and Tertius nearby. Mack took a skewer of roasted lamb from the fire, carefully turning it over before offering it to Matthew.
