Chapter 2
- Isa Daley. She has been Chadwick’s female friend since high school.
- According to what Adira heard, Isa and Chadwick did not date each other. However, students in their batch said that Chadwick had been in love with Isa for a long time.
- ‘In short, he’s a pathetic loser,’ Adira concluded while nodding her head.
- With crossed arms, she stood outside her husband’s room and listened to Chadwick’s conversation with his first love.
- [“My wife is pretty? W-Well. I admit that she is indeed pretty.”]
- A satisfied beam appeared on her luscious lips. She knew that fact very well, but it still felt good to hear it from someone else.
- [“But in my eyes, she’s not attractive in my eyes,”] added Chadwick.
- At Chadwick’s remark, the smile on her lips turned crooked. Adira looked at the closed door and snorted.
- “Huh!”
- She praised her husband’s fearlessness to escape during their honeymoon, suggesting that they must sleep in separate rooms and to say that his wife is unattractive to another woman. Adira just wanted to laugh and clap her hands in amusement.
- ‘He’s really something else,’ she said internally.
- Adira isn’t jealous a bit. She does not care if her husband is calling another woman in the middle of the night. Nevertheless, she wanted to take revenge on him by calling him unattractive.
- Not wasting time, Adira twisted the doorknob and opened the door with a bang.
- BAM!
- The door opened so hard, it bumped onto its opposite wall. The rude opening of the door was an eye-opener for her husband.
- Chadwick was so flabbergasted that his mouth hung loose as he stared at his wife while he was holding his phone, which he didn’t have the time to close.
- Adira approached him and greeted him in a loud voice. “Good evening, my dear!”
- Speechless, Chadwick stayed at his spot while gawking at his wife. He did not expect Adira to visit him in his room, and this made him wordless.
- “Why are you calling another woman in the middle of the night?” Adira asked. “I waited so long for you to come. So, drop the call and let’s start it right away. Our s*x.”
- The shape of Chadwick’s eyes was bigger than their original size!
- He turned red, as bright as ketchup, as he was embarrassed to realize that Isa was still on the phone, and she had heard everything just now.
- With trembling hands, he hung up the call. When he lifted his eyes, which cannot shut, to Adira, he uttered, “You…You… ARE YOU CRAZY?! W-Why would you say that when I was still in the middle of my phone conversation?”
- Acting innocent, Adira shrugged her shoulders. She smiled at him, and her dimples appeared deeply on her soft cheeks.
- Chadwick’s jaw almost dropped after receiving his wife’s nonchalant reaction.
- Adira Hale is the famous and respectable CEO of Crimson Meadow. She’s competent, professional, and hardworking. And because of this, Chadwick respected her as his business partner, all thanks to the good rumors he heard about her. But now, he had a change of mind. He thinks he’s starting to see her true colors, which weren’t revealed in public. He was flabbergasted!
- “I see nothing wrong in asking my husband to sleep with me,” Adira defended, with her hands behind her back, making her look polite.
- Breathing quivery, Chadwick responded, “So, you are saying that you did not do anything wrong?”
- “Yes,” Adira quickly replied. “But you did. You left me in Japan, decided the rooms structure in this house by yourself and calling me unattractive.”
- Chadwick’s forehead crumpled at the last reason that she said. He can understand why she’s complaining because he left her in Japan and decided to sleep in a separate room. However, he couldn’t understand why she was upset because he called her unattractive.
- “No one has yet to call me ugly. So, I was shocked,” Adira explained, even before Chadwick asked.
- Chadwick heaved a sigh. “I understand that you are upset. But, if you suddenly barged inside my room just like what you did tonight, I would be upset too.”
- “Then it’s fair. You called me unattractive, and I barged inside your room. It’s deuce.”
- Chadwick tilted his head. He does not understand where her ability to reason came from. Either way, he wanted to know why she visited his room.
- “Why did you come here to my room?” he asked.
- Adira smiled at him and answered, “To have a s*x with you.”
- “.…”
- After a few silences between them, Chadwick asked again, “Pardon?”
- “I said, I came here to have a s*x with you,” she repeated with a beam.
- Blinking swiftly, he asked, “Are you… damn serious?”
- As her answer, Adira nodded her head.
- “W-Wait a minute,” he ceased, raising his hand as if to stop her from saying more. “We got married for convenience. You aware of that, right?”
- “I am. So?”
- “We got married all of a sudden without proper dates and meetings.”
- “I know that too.”
- “If you know all of these, then, how can you ask me to have a s*x with you?”
- “That is a rhetorical question,” Adira said. “I am your wife. And you are my husband. It is natural for a married couple to sleep together.”
- Chadwick’s lips pursed in a straight line. It is indeed his responsibility to fulfill his wife’s sexual needs. However, he’s not ready to surrender his virginity to a woman he has just met. Everything is just a business between them, so he thought they wouldn’t interact that much. In addition to that, Chadwick believes that it is wrong to have s*x with someone he does not love.
- Nevertheless, he has no plan to fall in love with Adira in the future. For now, he is finding an excuse to prevent it from happening.
- “I have to apologize,” he said. “I can’t sleep with someone I don’t like romantically. Before we started this relationship, I believed that both sides made it clear that our wedding will remain as business.”
- Adira nodded her head as if she understood him.
- “So, go back to your room,” Chadwick commented.
- However, the stubborn wife stayed in her position.
- Seeing the suspicious gaze of Adira to him, Chadwick asked, “W-What? Do you have more to say?”
- “Well, I was thinking of another reason why you are so afraid to sleep with me. And I thought of one thing.”
- “What is it?”
- Adira glanced at his lower body, there at his center. Then, she dropped, “Your thing is small. Right?”
