An imperceptible smirk curled up his lip as his eyes flickered, but his gaze didn't meet Kate's. Instead, he stared ahead, his smirk growing ever so slightly. He felt a surge of satisfaction, knowing his plan was unfolding perfectly. Kate had taken the bait, and now she was exactly where he wanted her.
