- "I don't know enough about wolves and things to answer anything, Kellan. I can't even remember how it felt to have one. Surely, though, if one of you is my mate, then I won't feel anything for the other one of you?"
- He laughs slightly. "You don't have a wolf. Whatever you feel is from you. Getting your wolf and having a mate won't wipe out how you feel about someone else."
