Chapter 359 A Rare Sleepover
- After Stephanie headed upstairs, only Stanley and Melinda remained in the living room. The ceiling lights emitted rays of light that cast a golden hue on the furniture indoors. Stanley held onto Melinda's shoulder as he gazed at her lovingly. Then, he lowered his figure slightly to press his forehead against hers. "I'm sorry for putting you through this," he muttered.
- "Don't say that. We agreed to do this today." Melinda had already made up her mind. "Regardless of what happens in the future and regardless of the way your mother treats me, I'll never leave you again," she promised. Her words sounded reassuring to the man, and he felt a surge of warmth spreading across his chest. "Thank you, darling," he uttered while pulling her into his arms. Melinda reached her arms around his waist as she pressed her cheek against his warm chest. She felt safe just listening to his heartbeat against his chest.
- Meanwhile, Stephanie was overjoyed as she hurried upstairs to tidy the room. "Mr. and Mrs. Fox!" Stephanie stuck her head out from one of the corners of the stairs. "The room is ready!" She couldn't express how happy she felt to see the couple hugging each other. Happiness is contagious, after all! Stanley loosened his grip on Melinda before he held her hand and gazed at her. Their fingers were intertwined as the man led her up the stairs.
