Chapter 7 I'm Married

• "Reagan!" Stephen Eliot warned, trying to maintain his composure. "Edwin, are you serious about getting married?"
• Since birth, his second son had an unusual condition of being hypersensitive to female contact, except his wife. Any direct contact with another woman would trigger Edwin's allergic reaction.
• Over the years, they had sought out renowned doctors but had yet to succeed. Many experts were stumped by his unique condition.
• Edwin remained silent as he placed the marriage certificate on the table, along with a photo.
• Reagan attempted to snatch them, but Stephen's stern gaze stopped him.
• With a slight tremble, Ronald picked up the marriage certificate and photo.
• "Honey, why don't you take a look first?" He handed them to his wife, lacking the courage to look at them.
• With teary eyes, Julia Miller summoned her courage to tremulously open the marriage certificate.
• Tears welled up as she saw the seal on it. She then quickly passed it to Stephen.
• "Hubby, look, Edwin has really gotten married! His wife is quite lovely."
• Upon hearing that, Reagan rushed over and stared intently at the certificate and the photo for a long moment.
• He then blurted out, "Edwin, where is my sister-in-law? You didn't fake this marriage certificate to please Dad and Mom, did you?"
• Stephen and Julia were stunned and turned to Edwin.
• That was right. Where was their daughter-in-law?
• "We just got the certificate. She's staying with her parents until the wedding," Edward explained briefly.
• "Let's visit her after dinner," Julia urged anxiously.
• They couldn't feel at ease until they met her in person.
• "You'll meet her when we have time," Edwin said. Right after he finished speaking, someone's phone suddenly rang.
• Stephen and Julia followed the sound, glaring at Reagan accusingly as if blaming him for startling them with his phone.
• Reagan looked innocent under their gaze. Seeing that it was a call from his assistant, he appeared irritated and asked, "What's up?"
• "President Eliot, I finally reached you. This afternoon, the manager of Krone Jewelry called. He said Mr. Edwin brought a woman to pick out a pair of wedding rings. They chose the 'My Love' model. Mr. Edwin instructed the manager to inform you to remove the ring from display," The assistant, Zaid Johnston, relayed each word he had heard.
• Upon hearing that, Reagan realised Edward's marriage was indeed genuine, so he quickly ordered, "Remove it from display and recall any that have been sold."
• Edwin had never been close to women. It was difficult for him to finally marry a woman.
• Thus, his sister-in-law's wedding ring must be unique.
• "I couldn't reach you earlier, so I took the initiative to have the ring removed. Luckily, it was just put on display today and hasn't been sold yet. I'm calling you now to confirm it," Zaid explained.
• "Yes, Edwin is married."
• Hanging up, Reagan glanced over and noticed the ring on Edwin's finger.
• "Reagan, is everything okay with the company?" Stephen asked, concerned by words like 'removed' and 'recalled'.
• "No, no, Zaid called me to inform me that Edwin took his wife to Krone Jewelry to pick a pair of wedding rings. They had that ring removed from the display," Reagan explained with a smile.
• Julia disagreed, "My daughter-in-law's wedding ring shouldn't be chosen casually. Have the chief jewelry designer create a few options for Edwin to present to her."
• It was a blessing that her second son to find a wife.
• "Okay, I—"
• Before Reagan could finish, Edwin coldly interrupted, "No need."
• "Huh? Edwin, I—"
• "I'll bring her back next weekend." Edwin, who had finished eating, left those words behind. Gathering the certificate and photo, he left the dining room, preparing to return to the military.
• Stephen, Julia, and Reagan exchanged puzzled glances.
• "Reagan, have someone look into my daughter-in-law's background later," Stephen ordered seriously.
• They couldn't wait until next weekend. They were all anxious.
• Knowing her name and that they were registered for marriage, it shouldn't take long to find her out.
• "Dad, if you rush to find her, you might scare her away. Edwin will blame you." Reagan appeared surprised by his father's order.
• But truthfully, he was also curious to see his new sister-in-law.
• Stephen almost couldn't resist beating him up. "Just do it and stop talking nonsense!"

• In Tyndall residence, Dana was sitting at her desk, concentrating on preparing lesson plans for the week ahead.

• It was her legal husband.
• "What's the matter?" she asked cautiously.
• "I'm informing you to come to my place for dinner next Sunday," he said seriously.
• "I'm busy next Sunday ... " Dana declined without hesitation. But before she could finish her sentence, the call abruptly ended with a busy tone.
• She glared at her phone as if she wanted to smash it.
• It sounded nice to be invited for dinner. But in reality, it was to meet his parents. Following that, it would likely involve both sets of parents meeting to discuss the wedding.

• On Monday, Dana finished her last morning class.
• As the students filed out for lunch, Dana, a Gechiydese intern teacher, also packed up and prepared to leave.

• Felix looked at her meaningfully. After the other students had left, he deliberately drew the sentence and showed it to her.
