Chapter 6 Ambush
- Lewis couldn’t wrap his head around it. How did Suzy, who was so elated just now, turn into such a lustful woman all of a sudden? Her impatient behavior left him reeling. Before he could react, he felt a warm softness wrapped around his manhood. At that moment, he wanted to moan from the sensation.
- However, a sense of crisis welled up in his heart suddenly. Danger! Just when he relaxed his guard, the sense of danger quietly crept into his heart. There was no time for him to enjoy the warm sensation Suzy was giving him. Thus, he lifted his right hand and lightly hit her on the neck. Then, her dazed eyes closed slightly and she crumpled to the floor softly.
- Swish! At the same moment, Lewis knocked Suzy out, a strong wind rushed toward the back of his head suddenly. There was no time to think as he picked up the woman lying on the floor and rolled into the inner part of the cave.
- Thank goodness! Over the past few days, he had found some hay and covered most of the space within the cave with it. Otherwise, it would have been a miracle if he did not injure himself rolling into the cave while holding Suzy!
- Roar! Lewis heard a deafening roar at the same time he rolled into the cave with Suzy. He placed her down, then pulled up his pants with minimal motion. Then, he approached the cave entrance with a leap and picked up the solid wooden stick he had placed by the cave entrance. Turning his body, he swung the wooden stick toward the cave entrance with all his might.
- Bam! The sound of a violent impact rang out and a black shadow flew out the cave entrance in a flash.
- Swish! Swish! Swish! As soon as the black shadow left the cave, he heard several whistling sounds of movements. With that, his expression changed subtly and the wooden stick in his hands danced speedily.
- Bam! Bam! Bam! Grr… Grr… A series of impactful sounds, combined with the snarling and biting sounds, made Lewis’ expression change slightly. Suddenly, he found that he couldn’t pull the wooden stick in his hand back. Staring intently at the spot, he saw a black monster around one meter in size baring its fangs at him as it firmly bit into the stick in his hands.
- “D*mn it!” he cursed furiously. Then, he let go of the wooden stick and leaped backward.
- Grr… Grr… The black monster biting on his stick made several low growls. Then, it swept its head to the side and threw the wooden stick aside. Its bright eyes shone with bloodlust as it stared hatefully at Lewis. Behind it, three other black monsters slowly appeared at the cave entrance.
- These were the monsters Lewis and Lucy had previously encountered by the beach! Ever since the day Lewis killed off one of the monsters, these monsters had been loitering in the vicinity. He couldn’t believe how vengeful they were. Although several days had passed, these monsters had been searching for a suitable opportunity to attack.
- Grr… Woo… The low roars of the four black monsters made his expression twist horribly. These four monsters weren’t just roaring at him, but they were also slowly making their way toward him. Thus, he had no choice but to slowly back away toward the rear.
- Swish! Upon seeing Lewis retreat, they no longer stayed still and lunged toward him all at once. The leading monster aimed for his neck. Of the remaining three, two aimed for his arms. Meanwhile, the last one aimed for one of his legs. Their speed was so quick that they were right in front of him in an instant.
- Should I retreat backward? However, there was nowhere he could retreat to. When these monsters attacked, they had sealed off his escape route! Even if he stepped back, he would still remain within range of their attack.
- “You want me dead?! You aren’t worthy of it!” Lewis snorted coldly. He stomped his right foot against the ground and rushed forward at high speed. Utilizing this force of impact, he leaned his body backward. With that, the monster that was aiming for his neck flew over his head.
- The two monsters on his left and right narrowly brushed against his clothes. Then, his right hand quickly stabbed toward the front and a dagger pierced the monster’s chest. Following that, he forcefully dragged his hand holding the dagger in an arc toward the rear. As a result, a terrible wound slashed across the monster’s stomach. Lastly, he faced the monster that was aiming for his right leg. He moved his right foot before the monster attacked him and instantly kicked it in the lower jaw.
- Thump! A muffled sound rang out as the body of the monster weighing over a hundred kilograms flew backward. He didn’t bother to glance at the monster that flew outside. Instead, he turned around suddenly and quickly threw the dagger in his hand toward the monster on the right.
- On the other hand, the monster on the left was preparing to attack Suzy, who was lying on the ground. His left leg kicked out suddenly and a branch as thick as an arm flew toward the head of the monster on the left, interrupting the monster that was trying to bite her. Despite interrupting the two beasts in their attack, he did not stop there. His figure rushed forward speedily, picking up a wooden stick that was lying on the ground. Then, he brought the wooden stick down on the monster on the left before it could react.
- When the monster saw Lewis rushing toward it, it leaped backward suddenly. The wooden stick in his hand quickly swept toward the monster on the right in a horizontal slash, with the help of the reflective shock of the wooden stick hitting against the ground. His attack made the monster that was rushing toward him retreat.
- Swish! The whistling sound of wind came from behind him again. The monster that he kicked out of the cave had launched its attack at the back of his head from another direction. He spun around instantly and lifted the wooden stick in a flash. Then, the wooden stick came smashing down on the head of the black monster.
- Bang! The monster that had launched a sneak attack on Lewis took a blow to its head from the solid stick he wielded. It slammed against the ground, then twitched several times before collapsing. Without any hesitation, he suddenly rolled to the side. Another one of the monsters had sneaked an attack on him from behind and found itself pouncing onto nothing but air. Rolling over and standing up, he swept the wooden stick in his hand out again. The third monster that was about to attack hurriedly retreated.
- Roar! A loud roar made his expression change slightly. The monster that launched a sneak attack on Lewis let out a deafening roar from the entrance of the cave. Then, the other black monster slinked out of the cave speedily.
- These four black monsters left faster than they arrived! One of them had its stomach split open by Lewis. Although it wasn’t dead yet, it was on its last legs. Another one of the monsters had suffered a blow to the head and collapsed against the ground; it was currently unconscious.
- “Phew…” Lewis finally heaved a small breath of relief once the other two monsters had left. He quickly walked toward the dagger he had thrown out before. Picking the dagger up, he walked over to the monster and stabbed the throat of the monster he had knocked out. He looked at the blood flowing out without stopping and relaxed slightly. Thank goodness I reacted quickly enough! Otherwise…
- “Hmm?” Lewis noticed that something was watching him. Thus, he looked toward the entrance of the cave and found that the two black monsters that had fled outside were watching him. At this moment, their eyes were shining with a red glow. He knew that if he even relaxed his guard slightly, the remaining two monsters would ambush him without any hesitation.
