Chapter 11 The Beauties Who Escaped the Army
- Suzy lowered her head and thought for a while.
- “Let’s go. Who knows; we might find new companions, and maybe even more clues! If we continue waiting here, I’m afraid we won’t be able to get any results,” Suzy said as she breathed deeply.
- Compared to just surviving like this, she wanted to return home.
- She wanted to return to the city and continue being drunk on life.
- “Okay, let’s go!” Lewis nodded and agreed.
- Since she had already put it that way, what more could he say?
- Looking at the traces left behind on the ground, it seemed to belong to two people.
- Lewis and Suzy trailed further and further as they followed the traces left behind until the sun began to set.
- They traveled across two mountains and saw clouds of smoke produced by a campfire, rising from the jungle in the near distance.
- The place was around 2.5 kilometers away from the cave they were at.
- On the other hand, the group of people that the monster had drawn Lewis close to was at least five kilometers away from their current position.
- “We don’t know what’s going on over there, so we have to be careful later on!” Lewis handed the ax over to Suzy.
- “Hold on to this for your safety.” Suzy looked puzzled as he warned her.
- “Since we don’t know the current situation, it’s better that we don’t appear with a weapon in hand. Otherwise…” Lewis walked forward even before finishing his sentence.
- On the other hand, Suzy hid in her current position.
- All these were discussed between the both of them even before they had arrived here.
- If Lewis were to fall into a trap, she would have to rescue him from the trap.
- Slowly and steadily, he tiptoed toward the direction of the smoke.
- About 20 minutes later, he was less than 100 meters away from the cloud of smoke.
- From afar, he noticed a few modern people. No. To be precise, he noticed that they were members of the Dreamliner.
- “Who’s there? Show yourself!” Suddenly, a deep sounding voice made Lewis slightly furrow his eyebrows. Did someone notice him?
- No! He was certain he had not been noticed by anyone.
- “Just come out; we’ve already noticed you. If you don’t come out now, don’t blame me for being rude to you!”
- All of a sudden, a branch came flying at full speed toward the direction where Lewis was at.
- It was at this moment that he was certain that he had been exposed. He dodged to one side and immediately stood up.
- “About that, please don’t misunderstand. I found out that the monster I had killed yesterday was gone, so I followed the traces to see what was going on. I mean no evil!” Lewis did not know the beautiful lady who had thrown the wooden stick at him. However, he quickly stood up and gave an apologetic smile at her.
- “Bullsh*t! Even Ruth could not kill the Nightsnare herself; what makes you think you could?” another woman who appeared from behind the tree trunk added.
- Facing ahead, he observed the two women.
- Apart from their chest area, which was wrapped properly, most of their clothes were already torn apart.
- Their alluring waistlines were being exposed too.
- “Are you Lewis? You’re not dead yet?” Looking at Lewis, the woman who was known as Ruth furrowed her eyebrows as she questioned him.
- “Ruth! It’s you! I thought I would never be able to see you again!”
- Lewis had not expected Suzy, who was behind him, to ignore his instructions and run straight toward the young lady in front.
- Ruth? Hunter? He suddenly remembered that there was a beautiful lady named Ruth Hunter onboard the Dreamliner.
- “Suzy, it’s you! This is great; I didn’t expect to see you again,” Ruth exclaimed.
- “You must be Erin! Oh my god, it’s been a month since we last met. I almost couldn’t recognize you! Leah, you look fine too. Thank goodness the three of you are fine! Lewis, quick, come over here. Let me introduce them to you. The three of them are good friends that I met onboard the ship! I’m so happy that they’re all okay!” Suzy turned around to shout at Lewis after she hugged her three friends.
- Erin is known as Erin Graham while Leah is known as Leah Bailey.
- When Suzy had introduced them to him, he was able to recall their names.
- “Lewis? Suzy, you and him?” Ruth looked at her strangely.
- “What? He had been taking care of me for the past month. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t have been able to survive! He is a little different from the Lewis you know. This is the real Lewis. He isn’t the person you all thought he was!” Suzy added as she pulled him over to the front of those beauties.”
- “Nice to meet you, beautiful ladies!” Lewis said it with a smile while maintaining his vigilance.
- “Nice to meet you, Lewis! My name is Ruth Hunter. This is Leah Bailey, and this is Erin Graham,” Ruth pointed toward Erin and Leah as she introduced them to him.
- “Nice to meet you all!” Lewis repeated.
- “Suzy, I guess you haven’t eaten yet. Look! We’re eating barbecued meat today. Come; let’s eat together!” Leah said as she came toward Suzy and sat on a piece of wooden log.
- On the other hand, Lewis was busy observing their surroundings.
- Leah and the other ladies had been living in the hut that they had built under a huge tree, but their safety was not being guaranteed in this place.
- However, what made him extremely curious was how the three of them managed to survive for more than a month.
- “You don’t have to look around anymore. We’ll be moving to another place in a few more days. First of all, we’re here to hide from the monsters and secondly, we’re here to hide from the others! If it wasn’t for Suzy, I’m afraid you’d be dead by now.” Ruth chuckled as she saw how Lewis was looking around.
- “Hide from the others?” Lewis furrowed his eyebrows and asked.
- “Yes. In the beginning, there were more than thirty people that were washed up onshore. Besides the people, medications, food supply, clothes, and other stuff were washed up onshore too. The food supply was enough to feed everyone for about five days. After Henry realized that we were on an uninhabited island, Gavin seized all the supplies. Those who wanted to obtain those supplies had to obey his instructions; otherwise, they would have to leave the group. Before Gavin noticed the three of us, we took the opportunity to run away from them! During this period, Gavin and his group have been searching for us everywhere. I suppose you should know their reason,” Ruth ate the barbecued meat as she light-heartedly explained everything to them.
- “Ouch!” All of a sudden, Ruth cried out in pain.
- Lewis noticed a small black snake with a triangular head swiftly slither out from the wooden log that she was sitting on.
- He furrowed his eyebrows and instantly threw the dagger in his hand toward the small black snake, which had an estimated length of 50 centimeters; it was pinned to the ground by his dagger.
- “Ruth, where… where did you get hurt?” Leah’s expression changed the moment she saw Ruth’s face gradually turn dark.
- Lewis glanced at Ruth’s inner thigh. The area where the snake had bit her was close to her private area. Why would the snake bite her? Lewis thought.
- “That snake is venomous. Hurry; lay her flat on the ground!”
- In an instant, his hands were already on Ruth’s jeans.
- Seeing how Lewis wanted to take off her pants, not only did Erin and Leah’s expressions change drastically, Suzy’s face changed too.
- In front of their shocked gazes, Lewis immediately took off Ruth’s pants.
