Chapter 2 Good Bye!

  • With trembling hands, I picked up my cell phone and tapped on Dany's name. I watched him from inside the car, his gaze fixed on his phone screen before he answered my call.
  • "Where are you?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady. I never imagined my husband could act this way.
  • "I'm at work. Why the hell are you calling me?" Dany snapped back.
  • "Naomi, what's going on?" his voice sounded confused, maybe a little panicked.
  • I tugged at the corner of my lips, feeling a bitter taste in my mouth. "Where do you work that you can shop with other women?"
  • There was a brief pause on the other end of the line. "You followed me?" Dany finally answered, his voice sounding surprised.
  • I sighed, feeling a sharpening pain in my chest. “I followed my heart, and it turned out to be true that you were cheating on me all along!” I said. My voice sounded stronger than I thought it would.
  • “Wait at home, we'll talk about this!” Dany's voice was full of emotion. However, that didn't deter me from demanding an explanation.
  • “Fine. If you can, bring her over right now and talk to me immediately!” I hung up the call, feeling my heartbeat in my ears. I looked at Dany from afar, feeling a whirlwind of emotions.

  • Around five in the afternoon, Dany finally came home. He arrived with an angry expression on his face. My heart beat even harder when I saw him.
  • Dany pushed my shoulder when I greeted him at the door. “How dare you follow me?” he said in a high tone. From our conversation, he seemed to realize that I had followed him.
  • “Who is that woman?" I asked, trying to look him in the eye. There were no more pleasantries as I demanded an explanation.
  • "What do you want to know about her?" he shot back, avoiding my gaze.
  • "Obviously, I have to know because I'm your wife!" I replied firmly. "It's a good thing I didn't get angry on the street earlier because I was thinking about my pride and yours!”
  • "It's good that you can think," Dany said sarcastically. "Because if you dare to do that, I'll make you regret it!"
  • "So, is this why you haven't been able to provide for me in the year we've been married?" I asked, feeling the pain deepen.
  • "Why would I give you money if you can't give me anything?" Dany replied, taking me by surprise. I felt like I'd been slapped. I never thought that Dany could turn out like this.
  • "Look in the mirror, Naomi!" Dany snapped again. "Are you worthy enough to receive my money? You're not pretty, you're stubborn, and you have nothing useful to do. You're just a pain in the ass and only make my life a lot of trouble!”
  • "How could you say that to me?" I said, feeling tears starting to well up in my eyes. "Have you forgotten how you chased after me and how for two years I tried to put up with this life you gave me?"
  • "Shut your mouth!" Dany growled. "You still can't see that you're useless!"
  • My tears flowed even harder. "I never thought you'd say something like this."
  • "What can I do?" Dany looked at me coldly. "If it's not like this, you won't realize!"
  • I felt sad hearing those words. I never thought that Dany could turn out like this.
  • However, before the situation got worse, I decided to ask Dany again. "Between me and that girl, who do you choose?"
  • Dany furrowed his brows. "Why are you asking like that?"
  • "Just answer!" I demanded. "Our relationship will be decided after you answer my question. If you're still desperate to have a relationship with her, I don't want to continue this household with you."
  • "Never mind, don't be so insistent!" Dany looked at me sarcastically. "It's a good thing that you can stay in this house and be my wife. If I just wanted to have a little fun with another woman, there's no need for you to make a fuss about it."
  • My heart felt bitter hearing his words. Apparently, all this time I've been underestimated by Dany. Perhaps, it's time to teach him a lesson. I could no longer stay silent and let him belittle my feelings.
  • "Just divorce me. I can't live with a family like this anymore!" I looked at Dany with wide eyes. It hurt so much, but I knew this was the decision I had to make.
  • Dany laughed, his voice sounding cold and cynical. "Never mind, Naomi, don't challenge me. If we split up, where are you going to live?"
  • I smiled, this time it was my turn to keep Dany at bay. I reached for my cell phone and dialed the number of my personal driver. "Please pick me up immediately!"
  • Within the next half hour, my driver arrived in my luxury car. Dany was surprised to see the car. I could see his shocked expression clearly.
  • I stood up, grabbed my bag and jacket. Without many words, I walked to the door. "Goodbye, Dany. I'm waiting for your legal divorce papers!" I said firmly.
