• Ken couldn't stop crying. He really was in a state of joy but upset, happy but angry, and embarrassed but touched. It was too many emotions to bear at one time.
• Max couldn't do anything but hold Ken in his lap and rocked his boyfriend like a mother to her baby. Ken hugged his neck and hid his face in the crook of Max's neck which was wet with tears.
• "Honey, stop crying now okay, you might get a sore throat if you keep on like this," whispered Max in Ken's ear. "I'm sorry for not asking you first, but I just want to stay with you and I think this is the most likely path."
