• There was a knock at my office door at the infirmary, and I raised my head up from reading to Theo on the mat on the floor, to answer. The door opened and Sonai's head popped in. "I'm sorry, Ms. Danika, for disturbing you. The King is here to see you... with your mate!" Her eyes twinkled with delight, apparently knowing the news about my supposed mate's return was supposed to excite me.
