• Chapter 33: Why Does She Care?
• The door to her room slams shut with a thunderous crack, the sound so violent it rattles the picture frames hanging crookedly on the wall.
• Lena storms in like a whirlwind of fury, her chest rising and falling in erratic, uneven gusts. She throws herself onto the bed with a force that nearly bounces her off it, her arms crossing so tightly over her chest it’s as if she’s trying to keep herself from completely falling apart. A few stubborn tears have already slipped down her cheeks—hot, traitorous—and she wipes them away with the back of her hand in one swift, angry motion, as if punishing herself for letting them fall in the first place.
