Chapter 22

  • The crowd had grown so much that I worried no one would be able to see that I needed help. • When I looked up and saw his green eyes blazing down at me, I thought at first I was imaging it, but then I saw him reach out and grab the guy holding me by the throat, and I knew I wasn’t dreaming when the man’s grip on me loosened and I was able to scoot away from his grasp. Damian looked back at me and yelled, “Are you okay? Did he hurt you?”
