Chapter 6 The Victim Is My Secret Crush

• Antonio’s POV
• Her oceanic blue eyes glittering in the sun with her wavy black hair dancing along with the wind was mesmerizing on my head but the only thing that kept her from looking extraordinarily beautiful was the horrible makeover on her face.
• She has never for once tried to show her ordinary face without that, I don’t know if to say she was hiding her beauty or ugliness but one thing is certain, if she's beautiful she wouldn’t hide her beauty. Why do I even care? I mustn’t make my heart fall for a girl I barely talk to or ever see her normal face. My heart is mine and I can’t let it control my feelings for anyone.
• I headed to the class after she was no longer in sight. The moment I walked in, Lily rushed towards me engulfing her hands around me.
• I didn’t want anyone to disturb my peace so I removed her hands away from mine.
• “I wanna be alone.” I said to her and walked over to my seat before bringing out my headphone and inserting it to my ear to listen to “Love Yourself” by Justin Beiber.
• She didn’t say anything again and stormed outside. Great! I can have my peace now.
• I crossed my legs on the desk with my hands folded behind my back and eyes shut, losing myself to the song.
• Emily’s POV
• It was always the same punishment as usual when I got home. My foster mum ranted all day long, whipped me raining curses at me and also ended up starving me throughout the day. I worked myself out with the chores and cleaned every inch of the house before going to my room without having breakfast, lunch and dinner on an empty stomach.
• My stomach was making a gurgling sound and I was so damn tired at the same time. It was just because the principal, Jack’s dad, defended me and used a harsh tone on her. That's why she did all that to me.
• I was so uncomfortable but I still managed to lie on my bed and not without crying myself to sleep.

• I woke up in the middle of the night extremely hungry and weak and sneaked into the kitchen quietly not to wake Lily's mum or even Lily or else my punishment that moment would be bigger than any other day.
• I opened the refrigerator and found everything empty. God! How could she be this heartless to clear everything from the fridge just to starve me to death? I closed it back and was going back to my room when I looked back and saw some apples on a bowl at the center of the kitchen counter.
• I remembered putting them yesterday morning but she wasn’t quick to notice the apples and that's why it's still there.
• “Thank you God for not making me starve to death!!” I exclaimed really happy.
• I grabbed three of the apples and took a glass cup and filled it up with water from the sink before heading back to my room. I devoured the apples and drank some water before feeling much better and slept off again.

• It was morning already as everywhere was so bright. I was so much better when I woke up unlike when I didn’t eat anything. I felt great and energetic as well as happy. I don’t know what the occasion was gonna be but this morning happened to be my happy day.
• It’s been ages since I’d wake up feeling happy. The last time I woke up having these feelings was on my 16th birthday when dad wished me on the bed.
• It was a priceless memory I never wish to ever forget. He took me out for a fun time which I enjoyed every bit and the luckiest part of all was I wasn’t insulted by Lily or her mum that day because as at the time they were spending that time with Lily’s grandparents who happened to hate me also. All in all, it was the best day of my life.
• I just hope this happy feeling lasts throughout today for me. I rushed to the bathroom to clean up when I saw the time. We’re having a project presentation in school which lucky enough I was chosen since I was one of the best in the course aspect.
• I rushed outside and put on my school uniform and took care of other stuff. I already cleaned the house last night so I was free from all that.
• I applied my horrible makeup as usual, and looked good to go and picked up my bag before shutting the door and heading downstairs.
• I was sure Lily had left already as always but met her mum in the sitting room knitting a sweater.
• “Good morning mom.” I greeted her the moment I locked eyes with her.
• “Save your greeting and get going.” She said without looking at me.
• “Okay mom.” I replied.
• “Wait, take this money and use it for transport. I need you to run an errand for me after school,” She stated and threw fifty bucks at me. “Now get going.” she added sternly which I rushed out immediately.
• I must be so lucky today to have received money from her. I also have some money with me which was enough to last me five months. Father does give me money because he knows Lily never allows me to go to school with her in the car he brought for us. The money was always more than enough. He also warned me not to show it to Lily or her mother.
• I hailed a cab at the house gate which stopped almost instantly. “West view high” I said politely.
• “Hop in, hundred bucks.” The driver said.
• “Wha- what do you mean hundred bucks, it fifty bucks so what are you saying.” I was shocked.
• “That's the new price girl, are you going or not?” He stated.
• “Fine! Let go then.” I replied and hopped in, which I only agreed to because I was getting late for the presentation and must be there.
• We got to the school gate and I got out after paying the taxi driver the hundred bucks and rushed inside the school speeding to where the presentation was being held.
• I got there just at the perfect time when the presentation was about starting.
• “Here you’re Emily, it's gonna be your turn now.” The teacher said, smiling warmly at me.
• “Okay ma'am.” I answered.
• She's one of the nicest teachers in the school who happens to like me because of my good grades.
• “Good, you can start.” She gestured to me while I nodded and started the presentation.
• After giving the presentation, she was really impressed and announced I was the winner. I was so happy, and unable to contain my happiness having won the presentation. It really made my day throughout.

• Antonio’s POV
• I woke up very early in the morning to hit the gym where I usually go during the weekend.
• I wore my blue baggy shorts and a black body hug with a canvas before taking my workout kits, phone and headphone fixing it around my neck before heading downstairs. Dad and mom were nowhere in sight, which I feel they are probably still in bed.
• “Good morning sir!” The maids cleaning the sitting room all said in unison. I didn’t reply and headed outside the mansion.
• “Good morning sir!” The bodyguards, drivers and the rest. I get really tired of all their greetings which is really annoying.
• I hopped into one of my sports cars, the blue which is my favorite of all and started the car before driving off.

• It didn’t take up to five minutes until I got to the gym and as always all the girls in the gym were trooping over me but I paid no attention to any of them and began my workout.
• After I was done with the workout I drove back home to get changed and chill out with my guys.
• I met dad and mum already, having breakfast in the dining room where I greeted them and headed upstairs to my room to take a shower.
• As I got into my bedroom, I peeled off all my clothes and went to the shower and turned it on, making the water hit every bit of my body.
• In no time, I was done and took a towel, wiped my body before wearing a bathrobe and came out.
• I went to my clothing collection and selected what to wear. After that I styled my hair backwards making me look like an Egyptian prince.
• I glared at my reflection in the mirror, satisfied with the looks and walked out to go join my parents at the dining.
• Dad had left for the office to do something but promised not to waste time so I decided to have breakfast before heading out.
• “Where did you think you’re going this early, Tony?” Mum asked, glaring at me.
• “I just wanna go chill out with my guys in the club.” I replied, grabbing a seat next to her.
• The maids dished out my breakfast, just the way I always want it to be. Sandwiches, fruit salad and an orange juice, just a healthy meal for my body.
• “Why the hell are you hanging out with those bad friends of yours? No wonder you keep lying with girls stupidly.” She yelled in my face, making me lose interest in the food.
• She knows now but who cares, “Mum, it's my life and you have no right to tell me what to do with it.” I replied, really pissed with all her questions.
• “You’ve really changed a lot Tony. Those bad friends of yours had turned you against your mother having the guts to talk back at me.” She yelled and rushed for the stairs in tears.
• “Fuck!" I yelled, throwing away everything on the dining table in anger and stormed out leaving all the maids in shock.
• Emily’s POV
• I woke up and took my bath doing the remaining routines and came out.
• Today was a Saturday which means I was gonna go get groceries to add more healthy stocks in the house but my only problem was that the store was a few miles away from home which I had to go on foot as usual in the hot weather.
• I do get tired and weak because of the distance but what can I do? I dressed up and went to check out what I was gonna get at the store and took a paper and a pen to put everything down.
• I listed everything and collected the money for the stuff from my foster mum which she cautioned me to be back on time.
• I took the grocery bag and held out swinging the bag in my hand and started a song to make the journey less boring.

• I kept singing the song while walking on the road that led to the grocery store which was a few miles away from the house.
• Antonio’s POV
• After the heated argument with mom, I took one of dad's cars and drove outta the mansion in anger, driving in full speed ignoring the traffic signs.
• At that moment I lost every nut in my head and didn’t even know where I was heading. All I knew was I wanted a quiet place to clear all the shits outta my head.
• I sped off taking a road that led to Lily’s home when suddenly the car brake failed.
• Damn! What have I gotten myself into? I retired from getting outta the car but I couldn’t because the speed was so high, just then I sighted a girl but she was lost in thought. Why has today been the worst day for me? I thought.
• I focused my attention back on the road when I saw a huge tree and used force to turn the steering to come in contact with the tree.
• The car hit the tree, making me hit my head on the steering.
• "F**k!!!” I groaned, feeling pains all over my body and felt my eyes slowly closing.
• Emily’s POV
• I was on my way home after getting the groceries, on the quiet and lonely road so lost in my thoughts when a black SUV car speed passed me and hit a tree jolting me back to reality. What just happened right now? I thought, shocked.
• I couldn’t just leave the person since nobody was there except me so I rushed up to check up on the victim.
• “Are you okay?” I asked knocking on the door which was a young guy.
• He opened the door quickly but gave me his back view that I couldn’t see his face but he looked like someone I knew.
• He was about falling off to the ground when I caught him, that’s when I saw his face and behold it was Antonio, my secret crush!
• “Help me.” He whispered before passing out.
