Chapter 3 My Heart Want

• Emily’s POV
• I woke up feeling refreshed than ever. I dreamt about me and Antonio together in a room in each other arms, telling one another funny jokes and the looks on our faces was that of pure and sweet love. I wish it was all true but it was only a dream that might seem impossible.
• It was a good feeling and sweet moment that felt so real. Will that day ever come because it's just a dream, an imagination created on my head? I thought.
• Last night after the party, Lily attacked me yelling about how I burst into the restroom knowing she was there with her boyfriend. Duhh!! Like I care about the crazy stuff she missed.
• She is so funny at times. How was I suppose to know when she didn’t come to inform me beside she could have gone to her room but didn’t and blamed me for her misfortune.
• I didn’t know what to say to her so I just left her ranting and after she got tired, she left.
• I know today is gonna be so stressful because I'm the only one who was gonna clean the house before heading to school.
• I checked my alarm clock on my nightstand to see it was 5 a.m which was okay to do all the work and catch up on time to school.
• I got off the bed and walked to the bathroom to brush my teeth before sprinkling some water on my face to remove the sleep off my face. I came out and walked downstairs to begin the chores.
• The mess was so much that I began to doubt if I was gonna finish up on time but I start up anyhow with the believe I was gonna finish the work before 7:30 to make breakfast.
• “Whoa! If it isn’t the bitch, who always spoil people’s fun and happiness here up earlier than usual.” Lily’s voice boomed across the living room making me turn my graze to the stairs.
• She was coming down still on her night dress, sending daggers at me. What a bad day to spoil someone’s morning? I muttered.
• I ignored her and continued with my cleaning, “Aren’t you the one I'm talking to?” She snapped.
• “You mean me? If so, you have got to be kidding, I’m not bitchy like you.” I replied.
• “Wha – what did you just say?” She asked just to be sure she heard well coming close to me.
• “Yeah, I mean you.” I answered with confidence.
• She was about giving me a slap but I was quick to dudge it and grab her hand tightly.
• “Don’t you fucking try it because if you do you’re gonna only regret ever coming to earth.” I cautioned before releasing her hand.
• “So someone has been feeding you to talk back at someone, uhnn?” She said and scoff in disbelief.
• “You were the one who taught me that. I would have done this a long time ago but because of your Dad that’s what made me pulled back. He has been so darling to me, treating me like his own blood and flesh. I wish you were just like your father but I'm afraid not because you’re a demon already.” I spat at her making her face turn cold. She will never change at all.
• “You know what, I’ve had enough from you and your mother. Just because I don’t have parents doesn’t mean you keep picking up on me every time. I do regard you as my little sister but what do you use to repay me?” I added.
• “You’re so gonna get it from me later.” She screamed and walked away.
• That's a relief! I can’t damn sit back and keep getting hurt every time. I've to stand up and fight even if it means I’m gonna get in trouble with her mother, I don’t care. All I know is that I've had enough from them and I refused to be treated like a nobody.
• I was done in no time and was already on the stairs when Lily and her mum showed up from the stairs coming down which made me stepped down to let them come down first before going up.
• “Good morning ma'am.” I greeted.
• “What the hell is good about the morning, little devil?” She shouted.
• “Sorry ma'am.” I muttered.
• “Keep it to yourself! What did you say to Lily earlier? She was saying things I am still doubting and don’t get, so I wanna hear it from you?” She asked walking to the sofa along with Lily holding her hands.
• “Ehnm…she caused it first so I told her the truth.” I shuddered. I don’t know why this woman always gives me goose bumps all the time.
• “Explain in details.” She resorted.
• “Well, uhm… she called me a bitch and I told her she was the bitch not me which made her wanna slap me but I stop her saying if she tries it, she's gonna regret it and that I was only keeping quite just for the sake of Mr. Carton.” I explained briefly.
• “What a bold and brave attitude you’ve got. I must say you've grown wings to say all those words. After all the things, my husband and I have done for you. Is that how to repay us by insulting our daughter? Answer me, you demon’s child.” She growled and stood up from the sofa.
• You need not fear since she won’t kill you except only if she wants to go to jail for murder. Today's treatment might be worse but you just have to endure it. You are strong Emily. You're strong, you shouldn’t make them turn you into a weakling. My inner mind voice out loudly, giving me the courage and confidence to face my fate.
• “You crazy witch, how dare you! Tell me what’s your relationship with my husband? Are you having an affair with him?” She screamed like a wounded tiger.
• “I thought so, mother!” Lily gasped, “Don’t you notice how dad always takes her sides all the time like his mistress?” she added.
• “No!! There's nothing going on between us. He treats me as his daughter that’s why I said that and nothing more.” I replied, bravely.
• “You had better be right if not, you won’t leave to see another day on this earth.” She hissed and walked back to her seat.
• After finishing up with the work, I made breakfast and set it all on the dining table.
• “Bring my tea here.” Lily’s mum ordered.
• I placed the tea on a tray and went to give her in the parlor which she took from me as I try to head back to the kitchen and attend other stuff when she poured the hot tea on my legs purposely.

• School was plainly boring without Jack around. He didn’t show up and I didn’t have any means of contacting him to know why he didn’t show up or… Just then something came up to me.
• I could go ask the principal about Jake since he knows how close I'm with his son and he treats me exactly the way Jake treats me with love and care. I’ll go meet him in his office at lunch time, which is his free time.
• I didn’t really get bullied today except for that Lily who kept nagging when she saw me in the school and promised to get back at me for what I said to her earlier this morning like what her mum did to me wasn’t enough.
• She burnt my legs with the hot tea I made for her for breakfast and luckily for me, it didn’t turn to a bruise because I rushed to the restroom and used warm water immediately before managing to come to school after applying some ointment.
• I didn’t bother about what Lily was gonna do since she was just gonna humiliate me like always.
• Class was still going on but was so boring to me that I wasn't understanding any of the lessons being taught.
• “I’m so damn weak and tired.” I yearned and sigh tiredly, extremely exhausted and weak.
• Every pass seconds I kept feeling sleepily with continuous yearning.

• It was lunch time, I packed all my books back in my bag before heading outside but I met Antonio backing me at the corridor blocking my way out with some of his friends.
• Gosh! I didn’t even see him throughout, “Uhmmm…excuse me.” I said in a low tone with my head down.
• He turned his glare to me, “You’re that weird girl who saved me and who hides behind ugly makeover?” He asked.
• “Yes.” I replied picking some strand of my hair around my face to the back slowly.
• OMG! He’s finally talking to me after running away that day. I’ve been waiting for this day like forever.
• Thank you God! I yelled, deep down within me withca smile across my face.
• “Okay, so what’s your name?” He asked, walking away from the corridor giving me a way to walk out of the class.
• “I’m Emily.” I answered.
• “Pretty, that’s a nice name. I think I don’t need to introduce myself to you, right?” He stated, with a chuckle.
• “Thanks. Yeah, I know about you.” I responded with an awkward smile.
• “I’m gonna talk to you guys later,” He said to his friends, “I’ll catch up later.” He added and turned to me.
• I was mute and began walking away but he was followed me, I was just stunned by his behavior.
• What could have made him talk to me until now? Is it because I saved him that day or… No, no! Something isn’t right? I thought without saying a word to him.
• “So you’re Lily’s sister, right?” He asked after a long silence.
• “Adopted sister but she’s still my younger sister anyway.” I explained.
• “And you accept all those bullshits from her?”
• “Well, nothing of that means a thing to me anymore.” I said truthfully.
• He took my hands in his suddenly, “I can’t get you outta my head since the day you saved me and getting to see how really pretty you were. Emily, I’ve fallen heads over heels for you.” He confessed which shocked me totally.
• I couldn’t move an inch or say a word and couldn't believe that my secret crush, Antonio was the one saying all this to me.
• “Ehnnn,", was the only word I could say. Who could believe this handsome, cute and above all bad boy now feels a thing for this typical girl? I thought in bewilderment.
• I was hearing instant murmurs from afar but didn’t see anyone around except me and Antonio.
• “You’re the very first girl to make my heart beat for her,” He revealed holding onto my hands tightly in his, “Please don’t say no.” he added.
• “I’m really shock and speechle…” I was saying when he cut in nicely.
• “I’ve so long yearned for love and you, Emily is the first girl to make me feel that. All these years, I’ve been waiting for a girl who would make my emotionless heart feel something but I didn’t get one and now I’ve seen one which is, ‘You!"
• I was dumbfounded and stunned at his confession. He hasn’t felt anything for any girl before and look who made him feel it, me! I didn't know how to put the words together in my head or what my response was gonna be?
• “You're the girl to have done that and all along you were so close yet so far from me. I want you to be my girlfriend, Emily Carton. Please, don’t say no to my request.” he added.
• “I seriously don’t know what to say to you right now, I am totally…” I couldn’t finish my words when I heard distance chatters and felt a light tap on my arm calling my name.
• When I tried to look around, there was no one and even Antonio was nowhere to be found.
