Chapter 7 The Unexpected Request
- “Why?” Tin wonderingly asked her. She also looked at their friend Mics and Carmina who's sitting in the back chair of Rhezi. The two did only shrugged their shoulders.
- Rhezi pouted her lips. She looked at her friends on her back. “I don’t have an answer in Trigonometry.”
- The three did a deep sigh in chorus. They were feeling bad because all of them had no answer. They’re only hope was Rhezi but she didn’t have an answer, either.
- “I thought you were done already because you kept on chatting with me about your crush last night.” Mics chided her.
- Rhezi pouted. “ If you are engrossed , you will probably forget your responsibility.”
- “It’s hard to hope so you should stop that Rhezi,” Mics retorted back and took her own notebook.
- Rhezi frowned. She’s not hoping, though. It’s just that, it was her first time liking an opposite sex and it was Kraius. Now she couldn't do what she needed to do and what was right. She felt strange and confused.
- She adored him for being famous and successful. For being smart and talented. For lots of awards he had received and achievements. For the difficult cases he handled and had won effortlessly. In the end, she thought that she wanted to be a lawyer just like him.
- “That’s enough, guys. Let’s just answer this before the professor comes,” Carmina said.
- Rhezi sighed and faced her notebook. Even her friends did the same. She did not have a hard time doing it because math was so easy for her. She was just out of focus because of fantasizing Kraius.
- “Rhezi, crushes should be an inspiration and not a distraction.” Tin advised her. They’ve just finished answering their assignment in Trigo.
- “I know,” she answered back while her head was looking down.
- The four of them talked for a little while before their classmates came in. Followed by their professor in the Trigo subject. The professor took their assignment immediately before he started the lecture for that day’s topic.
- Rhezi was out of focus the whole day no matter how much she would force herself to listen to their teacher. She scolded herself for being occupied and distracted these past few days. She felt worse. She lost her interest especially when she thought of Tin’s words of wisdom awhile ago. She knew that she had a point. She knew, too, that her feeling of admiration for Kraius had gone too far.
- “Hey, Chubby! Why are you pouting your lips? You looked like a pig!” One of her classmates teased Rhezi. Their last period subject was just done and they’re busy gathering each of their things.
- Rhezi looked at her classmate’s direction. She glared at him. He’s good at his cynical attitude when he’s thin and not so handsome, too. Aside from it, her family was way more wealthy than his. Not that she’s degrading him or his family. But people should know how to act properly and accordingly. It wouldn’t make them more inferior just because they’re criticizing one person, may it be with or without justification.
- “Just shut up, Jericho! It’ll only take me one flick and you're gone flying.” She teased him back, too. She ought not to mind him but he’s gone too far. And she’s in a bad mood because everyone was affected and no one was an exception to her irritation. “You are all ugly!” She shouted irritatedly.
- Rhezi’s classmates laughed as to what she had said. She looked at her classmates' faces. She only shook her head while looking at them. Some of the girls were on brightly rouged cheeks and the boys were just disclaimer as handsome.
- Compared to her, they’re all nothing. She’s incomparable. They just couldn’t believe that she had all what it takes from beauty, brains, and temper. So, people should be aware of her. But there are some people who are dumb enough to challenge her temperamental side.
- “But you're uglier. You’re fat, too! Who would want to love someone like you?” another of her classmates persisted.
- Rhezi faced that particular classmate of hers. She raised her hand and gave that person a middle finger. A hearty laugh had roared again from her classmates while Rhezi was being restrained by her friends.
- “If I grow sexy, then who you to all of you! Especially you, Jericho! Rhezi pointed out to her classmate Jericho. “And for your information, I have a boyfriend. If you would see him, all of you would probably salivate. Hmmp!” She bravely told them.
- “Hey, what happened here? Why are you shouting, Chubz?
- Rhezi’s mind might be afloat but she’s no deaf. When she looked at the doorway of their room, she immediately saw Kraius. His forehead was knotted while his looks were very serious. He’s in his usual business coat while leaning on the door and playing with his car key.
- Rhezi was still stunned. If only Tin did not pinch her she wouldn’t have woken up from shockingly flabbergasted trance. Suddenly, her nerves and fiber were woken up. She looked at her friend and glared at her.
- “Who’s that?” Mics and Carmina asked her from her back in whispers. Even Tin was looking at her questioningly.
- “My boyfriend,” she declared briefly without any trace of hesitation. Because she’s already done gathering her things, she quickly ran to Kraius and smiled at him sweetly. “You’re late!” Rhezi chided him.
- “What’s happening here?” Kraius asked in a whisper to her.
- “Just go with the flow,” Rhezi answered. Kraius nodded to her and then he quickly held her arms and took her away.
- Rhezi still felt the same. While walking hand in hand with Kraius, she could still feel the same jolt of electricity there. The fast beating of her heart and its deafening pound inside.
- Rhezi admitted that her mind was wrecked and floating somewhere because of Kraius. Even her logic was going down. She knew that it’s wrong but, Kraius might be her distraction in life.
