Chapter 5 Unexpected Trip
- Hailey's POV
- "There's more to come now, Hailey" he smirked evilly.
- "W-what?" I asked
- as I backed away a little towards the door.
- He didn't reply and continued his work on the laptop.
- "S-sir
- ," I said. He looked at me."A-actually I don't want to... marry
- you..." I said as another thought crossed my mind.He smirked.
- "Oh, really?" he said. "You wanna marry Ivan, don't you?" he said.
- How the hell does he know that!
- "H-how do you-"
- "I know what even you don't know, Hailey
- ," he said, shutting down his laptop with a thud. "Well, you both really love each other, I saw that," he said.
- "S-sir"
- "You were thinking of marrying him once you are financially stable" he
- stood up.
- "......"
- "And you were thinking of engagement with him once your job gets stable"
- "Oh god. Sir, how do you know!
- I... I love him... But there's no point now-"
- "I can let you marry
- him... But at a condition" he said and took a step towards me. My eyes glistened as I listened to him.
- "Y-yes sir, any condition!" I said.
- "Marry him but stay with me, tell everyone that you're my wife"
- "B-
- but..."
- "Everyone will be told you're getting married to me
- ," he said. "But at the final moment, the groom will be changed"
- "......" I
- didn’t know what was better for me; marrying Ivan or him. I mean… of course, I love Ivan, but will he want this?
- "Okay, fine. You can stay with him" he said.
- I was beyond happy! He's not that bad, I guess!
- "Now, come to meet my parents today, go home and get ready with your best clothes.
- They should be simple yet elegant" he said whilst sitting back in his chair.
- "Oh, ok sir," I said and left the building.
- Even though it felt bad for a second, but then it seems like he's good. He is letting me marry the love of my life.
- Ivan Sullivan has been my boyfriend f
- or around two years. He has been very loyal and also very lovely to me. He never made me sad. He's my love and my life.
- I was all-ready physically, but not at all mentally. Hell, I'm afraid to meet any of his family members. I am just no good at putting in any act otherwise I would have been an actress! And to put the act of being his lover, one has to be utterly professional.
- He didn't even tell me the time I have to get ready. He just said 'tonight we will meet my parents'. What does tonight
- mean? It’s just 1:30 right now. But I'm all ready. I got all ready in the hustle and justle because I was afraid, I would be late. But now I see it’s just afternoon.
- A message popped
- on my phone’s screen. To my annoyance, it was him.
- "I know you're ready, my driver is going to pick you up, don't be a second late"
- What the hell. Why the hell will I go with his so-called driver!? I have m
- y... uh... Scooty! I don't need his help. But I also don't know where I have to go. So, I decided to follow what he says.
- Just two minutes later a car stopped in front of my house. I went a little near it. The door opened.
- "Ms. Hailey?" he asked
- , his eyes still fixed on the road.
- "
- uh... Yes," I said.
- "Robert sir has told me to pick you up, so
- please..." he said and opened the door, coming out from the other side. Without any further chit-chat, I sat in the back seat, while he sat on the driver's seat and drove at full speed.
- "
- uh... Can... Can you slow down?" I asked him, getting uncomfortable by the fear of ‘death’.
- "I'm sorry mam, we are running late
- ," he said and continued with the same pace.
- Running late, my foot. For God's sake, he said TONIGHT. Either he doesn't know that it's just afternoon or he said tonight by mistake.
- He kept on driving for like fifteen minutes and then we reached
- somewhere...
- I've seen this place. But... Wait. This is... Oh god. This is the AIRPORT!
- "W-why are we at
- an airport?" I asked him, as I got out of the car.
- "Because we're going to Ottawa" Robert's cold voice interrupted my talk with the driver. Seeing the opportunity, the driver drove off.
- "O... Ottawa...
- That... C-Cana... Canada's capital...??"
- "
- Yes, and I expect you to not stutter from now on," he said again in his cold voice and dragged me by my wrist to the airplane. We sat on the seat. He sat beside me, while at least four other his men were sitting on the front and back seats.
- I know that because they all nodded seeing Robert and they all have a black-colored suit on.
- "
- H... How long is this?" I asked him.
- "
- Do you have google? Just fucking check, the flight time!" he yelled, making me flinch at his sudden anger.
- I tried to distract
- myself, so I started looking out of the window. Luckily, I was sitting at the window's seat. I heaved a heavy sigh, as the plane took off. The view was amazing. I have never been on an airplane, so I was afraid, but I was more afraid of the mood swings my seat-mate was going through. I mean, who the heck does this. I just asked him the time.
- I took out my phone and checked the flight time.
- 4 hrs 28 minutes.
- Oh, so we are definitely gonna meet his parents tonight. Now I understand. But understanding doesn't mean I'm not afraid!
