Chapter 58 She Laughed
- She laughed. “You’re right. I never should have doubted you.”
- Storm sat in an easy chair reading, wondering where Melanie had gone. She’d finished the breakfast dishes a while ago, then disappeared down the hall. He had hoped she’d come and curl up beside him and they could read together, or talk, though talking would probably lead to a discussion about their relationship and he wasn’t sure he was ready for that yet. He was still annoyed with himself for putting his needs above hers, even though she’d defused the discussion with her adorable and loving manner. He still felt he should have put her pleasure first, or at least made it as high a priority as his own.
- Melanie walked down the hallway carrying a small plastic bin. “Do you need anything?” she asked, poised at the doorway to the kitchen.
