Chapter 1 : The Terrifying Graveyard
- It's so stuffy! She felt uncomfortable, as if there wasn't enough air for her to breathe freely. She struggled to take a deep breath, but it only caused a sharp pain in her chest. She coughed violently and woke up abruptly!
- She opened her eyes to complete darkness, with a faint smell of soil in the air. Where was she? She tried to sit up, but hit her head hard on the top, causing a sharp pain. She saw stars in front of her eyes and had no choice but to lie back down. As she raised her hand to her forehead, she felt something moving on her wrist. Perplexed, she turned her head, trying to see where she was. However, no matter how wide she opened her eyes, she couldn't see anything!
- The place seemed narrow, just enough for her body size. It felt like a container, maybe a coffin? The thought made Ye Fengwan sweat. Wasn't she providing cover for her comrades during the jungle battle? A bullet had been shot towards her head, and she blacked out. Could it be that she was already dead? Buried? The realization made her reach for her head, where she indeed found a wound, still bandaged.
- As she pondered, she heard faint voices. She held her breath and listened carefully.
- "Boss? Are we really going to dig this up? Although the main character is the legitimate daughter of the Prime Minister's mansion, she's not favored! How many valuable things could be inside?" It seemed like someone was complaining.
- Prime Minister's mansion? Legitimate daughter? Who were they talking about? Ye Fengwan furrowed her brows, feeling confused.
- The next moment, she knew who they were referring to, as she heard the sound of digging above her. Someone was stepping on top, making a loud noise!
- She closed her eyes slowly, feeling on guard. She was worried that someone might step on thin air and fall on her. Just as she heard a cracking sound, her long eyelashes trembled instinctively. It felt like soil had fallen on her face, and she wanted to brush it off!
- "Damn it! What a disappointment! Look, there's nothing valuable here!" A complaining voice echoed in her ears.
- "Shut up! What are you talking about? Can't you see where you are? If there really is a ghost in this graveyard, wouldn't you be scared to death?" someone scolded in a low voice.
- The person seemed to snort, but then noticed the jade bracelet on Ye Fengwan's hand. Their eyes lit up, and they quickly placed the torch aside, reaching for her wrist!
- Grabbing her wrist, they forcefully tried to remove the bracelet...
- Ye Fengwan suddenly opened her eyes and complained to the person who was trying to remove her bracelet, "Damn it! That hurts! Can't you be more gentle?"
- Without looking back, the grave robber replied, "What do you mean gentle? I can't even remove it with this much force, let alone be gentle!"
- "Then can I remove it myself and give it to you?" Ye Fengwan whispered.
- The grave robber froze for a moment, and then the sound of owls hooting came from the depths of the dark forest. It sounded like a ghostly howl in the pitch-black night. The grave robber's body turned cold, and he slowly turned around. When he saw Ye Fengwan, who should have been lying in the coffin, looking at him with shining eyes, he screamed and fell to the ground!
- "Why are you screaming?" a voice scolded from deep within the forest. It turned out to be their companion who had gone back to put things away!
- "Boss! Look! Look! It's a resurrected corpse!" The grave robber trembled and pointed at Ye Fengwan.
- The boss's gaze turned towards her, and Ye Fengwan smiled, revealing her small white teeth!
- "Ah!" The boss screamed and also fell to the ground, emitting a foul smell.
- "Boss? Did you wet yourself out of fear?" another grave robber frowned.
- A hint of embarrassment flashed across the boss's face. He casually took out a packet of medicine from his pocket and sprinkled it on Ye Fengwan's head. Taking advantage of her momentary confusion, he ran away!
- "What is that?" Ye Fengwan quickly covered herself with her sleeve, but a faint fragrance entered her nostrils, causing her to sneeze!
- When she opened her eyes, there was no sign of the grave robbers.
- "Thank goodness they ran away! If I catch them, I'll make sure they end up in coffins!" Ye Fengwan smirked.
- Faint voices came from the forest, "Boss, what powder did you throw at her?"
- "It's a sedative," the boss replied in a deep voice.
- "A sedative? Isn't that a drug used on women?"
- "Who cares! If she can't handle it, she'll find a male ghost!"
- "Then shouldn't we have stayed..."
- Ye Fengwan sat in the coffin for a while, using the torch left behind by the two grave robbers to examine her tattered clothes. She was dressed in ancient attire, and her delicate wrists were adorned with a sparkling green bracelet. It seemed to be the most valuable thing on her body. No wonder it attracted the attention of the grave robbers!
- It seemed that the fragrance she had smelled earlier was problematic. Her head started to ache severely, and she couldn't help but lightly tap it. Suddenly, the pain intensified, distorting her face. Memories flooded into her mind, and she remembered everything. She was originally the daughter of the Prime Minister of the Purple Brilliance Kingdom. Although she was the legitimate daughter, she was not favored due to her mother's low status. However, she had an enviable engagement with the current Crown Prince!
- Thinking of the engagement made her head throb even more. The Crown Prince despised her for being useless and not skilled in martial arts. On the day of their wedding, he suddenly handed her a divorce letter, which was absurdly ridiculous, claiming that she was not fit to be the Crown Princess! She was humiliated and lost consciousness. She even listened to her sister's advice and went to the Crown Prince's residence, kneeling for a long time. The consequences were predictable. Not only did she not get the Crown Prince to take back the divorce letter, but she also pleaded with the Emperor to grant her the title of a disabled prince!
- Disabled! Even in her memories, she could feel the intense resentment of the original owner of this body! She was Ye Fengwan, the legitimate daughter of the Prime Minister's mansion. Why should she be paired with a disabled person? Why?
- With her strong will, she hit her head on the lion statue in front of the Crown Prince's residence, losing consciousness!
- But she must not have died at that time! She still had a breath of life and was brought back to the Ye family. Unexpectedly, someone buried her alive! How much did they hate her to bury a living person in a coffin? Thinking of this, she gritted her teeth and clenched her fists!
- Very well! They played with human lives, right? How ruthless! Ye Fengwan died, but being buried alive in a coffin made her, the special agent Ye Fengwan, possess the body. Since she had taken over the original owner's body, she would avenge the original owner's unwillingness!
- Thinking of this, she closed her eyes tightly and murmured, "Ye Fengwan! Don't worry! I will definitely avenge you!"
- Ye Fengwan struggled to climb out of the coffin. Just as she took her first step, she saw arrows flying towards her!
