• The roar of the crowd faded into a muffled hum as I closed my eyes, the weight of the crown I hadn't won settling heavily on my shoulders.
• It was obvious that Christine would win because of the beauty of her answer. Furthermore, Dawzon's off-topic question may have contributed to me not being chosen as the winner.
• I didn't linger on Christine's lack of hug and congratulations towards me, as I stepped back after receiving the sash and flowers from the judges.
