Chapter 19 Press Conference
- "Exactly. Tell us, Mr. Seinfeld. What is it?"
- The reporters' microphones were shoved forward, and the photographers' cameras were carried on their shoulders for fear of missing something.
- Zack raised his eyebrows and smiled again. "Why don't I give a hint for you to guess?"
- When the reporters heard the news, their gossipy gaze became even more intense.
- Zack continued, "There will be two major announcements today, which is equivalent to a double celebration."
- A reporter couldn't help but ask, "Did you sign a collaboration with another international conglomerate?"
- Another reporter exclaimed, "Coco Investments is really going to be a business legend."
- Zack raised his eyebrows, grinned, and shook his index finger. "No, no, no. The news I want to bring to you today has nothing to do with any collaboration, but it has a lot to do with Coco Investments' future development."
- One of the reporters suddenly asked whimsically, "Are you getting married?"
- Whoa!
- The audience was sensational, and everyone was excited to gossip.
- "Mr. Seinfeld, whose daughter is it? Let us know."
- "Mr. Seinfeld, when did this happen? How long have you been together?"
- "Has the wedding date been set?"
- "Mr. Seinfeld, is the other party a lady from Elmstead?"
- "Not long ago, a paparazzi photographed you walking into the hotel with a lady. Is she the person that you're going to marry?"
- These reporters gossiped as if they had witnessed it with their own eyes.
- Zack was rendered speechless. Laughing helplessly, he wondered why he couldn't offend reporters. Why couldn't he provoke reporters? That was because their minds were peculiar. They could come up with a story that sounded so real as if they had witnessed it.
- Raising his eyebrows and smiling, Zack blinked his eyes and continued, "You guys are amazing. You're half right."
- The reporters were even more excited now.
- "What do you mean by we're half right? Stop beating around the bush, Mr. Seinfeld."
- "Yeah! What is it? Is it an engagement instead of a grand wedding for now?"
- "Wealthy families have always had a lot of rules. Usually, they'll get engaged first before arranging all kinds of special events."
- "I'm really looking forward to your wedding, Mr. Seinfeld."
- Zack blinked his peach blossom eyes and smiled helplessly. He then raised his brows and said, "Okay, I'm not going to keep you guessing anymore. I'll announce the first news. The president of Coco Investments is officially returning to take over Coco Investments."
- Wow!
- There was another wave of amazement.
- Zack was satisfied with everyone's reaction, so he continued, "Everyone knows that I'm just the vice president of Coco Investments. So, are you curious about who the president of Coco Investments is?"
- Exactly. Who was the president of Coco Investments? People in Elmstead had been wondering for three years.
- The reporters scrambled to ask questions. "Excuse me, Mr. Seinfeld, who is the president of Coco Investments?"
- "I'm sure everyone in Elmstead is wondering who the mysterious president of Coco Investments is. Mr. Seinfeld, will he show up today?"
- "Mr. Seinfeld, what is your relationship to the president of Coco Investments? As the rumors say, you are an extremely rich heir. Is the president your father?"
- At this time, Elias was already standing with Raven outside the conference room door. Although it was across the door, he could hear the hyped atmosphere inside and reporters' voices scrambling to gossip. Elias shook his head helplessly. Zack was capable of turning a press conference into an entertainment gossip meeting.
- After that, Zack's voice sounded exaggerated, "No way. How could the president be my father? He's only 27 years old, which is a year older than me. Don't believe in rumors."
- "He's only 27?"
- "So, Mr. Seinfeld, what's your relationship with the president?"
- "Oh, I see. Is she your childhood sweetheart turned fiancée?"
- Zack motioned for them to stop and coughed lightly into the microphone. "Ahem, stop guessing, everyone. Our president is a man, a handsome man at that. He is so elegant that even the heavens must praise his beauty."
- Raven, who was standing outside the door, giggled softly.
- Elias instantly felt awkward.
- The reporters were getting ecstatic again.
- "Will we have the honor to meet the president today?"
- "Yeah, will we meet him today?"
- "Who is he? Has he shown up in Elmstead before?"
- to everyone's speculation, smile plastered across his face. "All of you present today will be able to meet the president of Coco Investments today. I guarantee that you'll be shocked. Now, let's welcome our president."
- His last sentence was intentionally raised higher to carry a hint of excitement. He walked to the meeting room and opened the door personally.
- Outside the door, Elias gently extended his hand to Raven while she placed her hand in Elias' palm. Instead of holding her hand, he intertwined his fingers in hers. He was wearing a neat suit, looking handsome and elegant. On the other hand, Raven wore a shirt on top and jeans on the bottom. Her hair was tied into a ponytail, which gave the impression that she was youthful, neat, and energetic. There was no makeup on her face, yet her skin shone flawlessly. At first glance, one could tell that she was a natural beauty. Even though the couple's outfits did not match, they gave off a comforting and harmonious aura when standing together. It could even be said that they looked like a perfect match.
- When the reporters watched them walking in, they forgot to ask questions for a moment. They merely stared at the couple.
- After a while, someone shouted abruptly, "It's Mr. Elias from the Mortimer Family!"
- "That's Miss Raven from the Lancaster family!"
- "Oh, my heavens. What is this couple? What's going on?"
- "How did we not know about Mr. Elias and Miss Raven's relationship at all?"
- Elias' face was calm, and his expression was indifferent. Raven also restrained her emotions and looked a little serious. She felt that the press conference was a battlefield, and she could not afford to say anything wrong. Raven decided to stay by Elias' side for a while, determined not to talk much. Once she said something wrong, the media and audience would hold on to her and magnify even the most minor issue.
- Affected by Elias' emotions, Zack also restrained his smile. He raised his hand to calm the audience before uttering, "Ahem. It was a warm-up earlier. Please don't include that part in your news broadcast. We shall start the press conference now, and you may start broadcasting, haha!"
- Raven was at a loss for words.
- No wonder Zack had so much fun earlier. It turned out those were not going to be broadcasted, but since when were the media so obedient and cooperative? Didn't they continuously broadcast what was most gossip worthy to arouse the audience's emotions?
- Elias turned his head to Raven's ear and whispered, "Zack's public relations skills are unparalleled."
- Raven nodded, so it was.
- Zack smiled and diligently handed the two microphones to Elias and Raven.
- He then took the lead in applauding. "Next, we'll invite the president of Coco Investments to deliver his speech."
- There was so much silence that the tinkling of a pin could be heard.
- Everyone was utterly shocked by the news because no one ever imagined that the president of Coco Investments was actually Elias Mortimer.
- This time, Elias picked up the microphone. He spoke in an indifferent but magnetic voice, "Hello, everyone. My name is Elias Mortimer, and I'm the president of Coco Investments."
