Chapter 18 Elias' Obsession

• Zack knew everything about Elias. Elias only had three obsessions. The first obsession was that his mother could fulfill her promise and come to meet him. His second obsession was that he hoped his grandpa would live a long and healthy life. The third obsession was to find the little girl who once protected him as he swore to protect her for the rest of his life. Elias even added that if he ever came across her as single, he would marry her and give her the finest of everything. If she was married, he would treat her like his sister and provide her with everything within his ability.
• Elias spent many years looking for that little girl and eventually gave up hope of finding her. He discovered that she was Iris Lancaster, the Lancaster Family's second daughter. Furthermore, Elias was ecstatic when he learned she had not yet tied the knot. It was the first time he asked Joseph for help to propose marriage, and the Lancasters agreed to it immediately.
• Zack recalled when Elias told him that he was going to get married to Miss Iris, there was a gleam of light in Elias' usual indifferent eyes. The beam of light was enough to warm one's heart. Other than that, there was also a gentle smile on his face that had rarely been shown. Elias genuinely looked forward to his marriage with Miss Iris. Zack was relieved at the time that after Elias had been living alone and lonely for so long, someone would finally bring warmth to Elias' world. However, they never expected that the smooth progress was just a show. Nobody could have foreseen that Elias would be drugged during dinner and that he would sleep with Miss Raven by accident. Wasn't the reason all this happened due to Elias' identity as the illegitimate son?
• Therefore, Zack had been waiting for Elias' approval to disclose his identity as Coco Investments' president. Last night, he proposed to make it public, but Elias disagreed and said holding a grudge was unnecessary. Zack thought he would have to wait for quite some time, so he was taken aback when Elias suddenly wanted to disclose his identity. When Zack thought about it, he felt thrilled. He knew Elias decided to go public today because his grandpa was sick and hospitalized, and Elias just wanted to make his grandpa happy. For whatever reason, he must take a good look at the people who despised Elias before. He wanted to know what kind of flattery they would pull at Elias when they learned that Elias was the president of Coco Investments.
• Then, the secretary quickly knocked on the door, entered, and reported, "Mr. Seinfeld, everything has been arranged. Journalists from traditional media and several major online media are on their way."
• The secretary glanced at her watch and continued, "They will arrive within half an hour, and we can hold a press conference on time at 5.00PM. Major TV stations and online media will broadcast it live."
• "Okay." Zack smiled, and his eyes glimmered with excitement.
• The secretary nodded. "I'll oversee the details."
• After the secretary left, Zack rubbed his hands excitedly. "Elias, what should I do if I'm feeling a little anxious?"
• Elias stared at Zack speechlessly. "Anxious?"
• Zack laughed exaggeratedly. "I'm afraid someone will try to flatter you in a while, and I'll be at a loss and don't know how to deal with it."
• When Raven heard him, she tried to stifle a laugh. Coco Investments' vice president turned out to be humorous, and his personality was a stark contrast to Elias'.
• Elias glanced at Zack again, speechless, before asking, "Have we received the account number from Mr. Lancaster? After 4.30PM, we won't be able to send money out."
• "Oops! I almost forgot about that. I shouldn't be too proud or I'll get carried away with pride."
• Zack immediately called the chief financial officer and made arrangements. "Mr. Claude, please arrange to transfer two billion to Lancaster Incorporated. It's the president's dowry money. I will send the account number to your phone."
• In less than ten minutes, Zack received another text message saying that Coco Investments spent two billion in the corporate account. They immediately transferred without using any checks. Coco Investments was indeed wealthy.
• Zack looked at his phone and informed, "Elias, the money has been transferred to Lancaster Incorporated's account."
• Elias nodded and said to Raven, "Come to the press conference with me later."
• She was stunned for a moment before realizing what Elias had said. She glanced at her outfit and smiled awkwardly "I'm not prepared, though."
• Raven was dressed too casually, like a student. She wore a white shirt and jeans and did not look stylish.
• Elias looked at her and uttered gently, "It's fine. You look good."
• "Is there enough time? I'll go buy a set of clothes," Raven insisted.
• Although she and Elias were not married because of love, she was now his wife, representing his identity. Even though a press conference is a formal event, it should still be taken seriously. "You really don't need to prepare yourself, Raven. You looked great like this. You have natural beauty, elegance, and youth. All good." Zack beamed and scanned Raven up and down admiringly.
• Elias glanced at Zack and questioned, "Aren't you going to get ready yet?"
• Zack looked into Elias' eyes mischievously as his smile grew wider. With a light and playful tone, he uttered, "All right. Come in a few minutes later. I'll hype the atmosphere first, haha."
• After he walked to the office door, he turned his head again and grinned, "Elias, I'm worried I'll have stage fright later. I'm too nervous today. Haha!"
• Then, Zack left briskly. The white suit made him look warm yet coquettish, and the widened smile on the corner of his lips revealed his excellent mood at the moment. He believed Elias would fall in love with Miss Raven as she was more suitable for Elias than Miss Iris. Anyhow, Raven was more pleasing to the eyes than Miss Iris.
• When Elias wanted to marry Miss Iris, Zack thought it was a hasty decision. He also suggested Elias not be in such a hurry to get married and try to get to know her first. When Miss Iris was protecting Elias in the past, she was just a little brat who didn't understand anything yet. People tend to change when they grow up. Who knew what kind of personality they carried now? Despite that, Elias was insistent and said women had to be showered with love. It didn't matter if they had a bad temper. He would give her everything she wanted if she asked for it. Unexpectedly, Elias married another person eventually.
• The press conference officially started at 5.00PM.
• Zack seemed to belong to the stage by nature, and the white suit made him look even warmer. With an amiable smile, he started his speech. "First of all, I would like to thank all of our media friends for coming. I'm inviting you here today due to a huge announcement that Coco Investments will be making. Ahem! lease stop live broadcasting for now, and guess what the huge announcement today is."
• His rising pronunciation roused the curiosity of all reporters. The reporters held their breaths as they waited. When Zack did not announce the answer, everyone became restless and rose from their seats.
• Zack blinked his peach blossom eyes and smirked. "Are you curious about the huge announcement?"
• "Of course!"
• "Yes, we do!"
• "Mr. Seinfeld, what's the huge announcement about? Coco Investments has always been known as a myth in the Elmstead business community. Are you going to bring us a legend this time?"
