Chapter 12 Iris vs Raven
- The waitress immediately greeted Iris with a smile.
- With a bright mood, Iris ordered, "Two of the most expensive drinks, please."
- "Good day, miss. Would you like to try our latest item, White Lady, for 90 per glass?" the waitress suggested with a smile.
- Since the customer didn't specify their order, she dared not suggest anything out of the ordinary in case the customer didn't want to pay for it.
- Iris smiled and praised, "White Lady? Sounds good. Two glasses, please."
- "Sure," answered the waitress before heading to the counter.
- Iris pulled Raven over and motioned to her. "Take a seat. I have something to discuss with you."
- Raven sat down on the chair with a distant glance. "If you're talking about buying the bungalow, don't even try. I will not sell it."
- Instead of getting infuriated, Iris smiled lightly. "Don't be in a hurry to reject me. Business is all about discussion and negotiation."
- When the waitress served the drinks, Iris smiled and pushed the glass in front of her to Raven, saying proudly, "Raven, don't you think I treat you well? I always think of you whenever I have something good."
- "Yeah, right. You're so kind to me." Raven laughed mockingly.
- Besides, she never thought there was anything wrong with Elias. On the contrary, Raven felt that she and Elias were in a similar situation. What Iris mocked was the shamelessness of the Lancasters. After pulling dirty tricks, the Lancasters dared to show off in front of her. Raven could no longer tolerate their nonsense.
- Iris took another cup of coffee served by the waitress, gently stirred the straw, and said with a smile, "Raven, sell the bungalow to me. I'm really sincere about it."
- When Iris thought that she would tell Raven that all the money she used to buy the bungalow was given by Elias, she was exhilarated.
- "No," Raven uttered coldly, without taking a sip of the drink.
- As she watched Iris' triumphant grin, she continued, "Even if I'm going to sell it, I won't sell it to you."
- "I can pay more." Iris stirred her coffee leisurely and smirked.
- "No."
- "I'll pay another million." Iris gestured with one finger.
- "No."
- "1.5 million."
- "No."
- " Two million." Iris raised two fingers in a victorious gesture.
- "No."
- Iris smiled and leaned forward. "Adding two million is equivalent to increasing a quarter of the price. Are you a fool to reject such a good opportunity to make money?"
- "I'm not short of money now," Raven spoke indifferently.
- Iris suddenly lost her smile when she thought of the sixty million she had given to Raven. However, her smile bloomed again when she recalled the large amount she received from Elias.
- In a good mood, she asked, "Did you know? Times are changing and progressing. We can't compare our lives now to before. Sixty million is no big deal in our era. Besides, the bungalow is a place to stay leisurely in. It can't compare to a commercial or office building in terms of improvement. Why don't you just sell the bungalow to me and buy an office building instead?"
- Raven looked at Iris as if Iris was a fool. "If you have such good judgment, why don't you get an office building yourself?!"
- "I'm not short of money. I don't need investment."
- "What a coincidence, I'm not short of money either."
- "Pfft!" Iris smiled with contempt in her eyes. "You only have sixty million. Are you not ashamed to say that you're not short of money?"
- Raven smiled in response. "How much money I have is not your concern. I'm living a good life now. Besides, I won't sell the bungalow to you."
- "You!" When Iris saw Raven's smug look, she couldn't help but get furious.
- Raven decided to provoke Iris again when she realized Iris couldn't laugh anymore.
- Raven quietly touched her pocket and deliberately made her phone ring. Once the ringtone rang, she deliberately pretended to answer the phone, "Hello, may I know who's calling?"
- "Madam Tanner? Oh, are you calling to survey the bungalow? Can we meet a little later? I'm currently busy."
- "Tonight? Sure. Yes. It's an available unit. It's move-in ready."
- "Don't worry about the renovation because this bungalow was originally used as a dowry for my sister. Therefore, all the furniture is the best quality."
- "Of course. My sister is favored in my family, so her dowry is well-renovated."
- "Don't worry, I won't ask for more than eight million. You'll know when you see the bungalow tonight. Let's talk about it later."
- Didn't Iris come to provoke her on purpose this time? Raven decided to outdo her.
- Ever since Raven was young, besides suffering grievances in the Lancaster Family because of her two sisters, she never got bullied out of the home. That was because she wasn't someone who liked to hold grudges. Usually, she would take revenge on anyone who bullied her right away.
- When Raven hung up the phone, she saw how wide Iris' eyes were. It seemed like two fire dragons were lying underneath her eyes. They were raging with fire and about to leap out of her eyes and consume Raven.
- Raven knew that Iris would get enraged when Iris heard Raven would sell the bungalow to others, so Raven pretended to be surprised. "What's wrong, Iris? Why did you look like that after I answered the phone? You don't look so good. Are you sick? Should I take you to the hospital across the street?"
- "You did it on purpose, Raven Lancaster." Iris stared at Raven with a menacing stare.
- In response, Raven raised his brows slightly and inquired, "Did what on purpose?"
- "You want to sell the bungalow to someone else on purpose."
- "The bungalow is mine now. Don't I have the freedom to do whatever I want to do?" Raven smiled slightly. She did it on purpose, so what?
- Just because Iris tried to stab a machete into Raven's heart, Raven couldn't stab her back with a small knife?
- Iris stared at Raven with a menacing gaze for a moment. Still, a smile suddenly appeared on Iris' face the next moment as she inquired, "Do you know where I get the money for the bungalow from?"
- "Hah, I'm not interested." Raven snickered.
- The Lancasters planned to marry Raven to Elias and get the megaproject investment from the Mortimer Family. So, they could afford a bungalow.
- "But I want to tell you." This time, Iris' smile grew wider. She leaned forward and hooked her finger at Raven. "Come here. I'll tell you secretly."
- Raven leaned back defensively and kept a distance from Iris. "I don't want to know."
- Iris laughed. "What do you think I will do to you? I just want to tell you a secret. If you're not afraid of being heard by others, I don't mind telling you now. You know what? The money I'm going to use to buy the bungalow belongs to your husband. Yesterday, he heard that you took sixty million from our family as well as my bungalow, so he paid me sixty million and the price of the bungalow. How generous is he? For the bungalow, he paid me ten million for it. Hear it? Ten million."
- "So?" Raven raised her brows and looked at Iris with a snicker.
- Was Iris sick to tell her that? Did she think Raven would be jealous, or what? Raven and Elias had only known each other for three days. Why would she be jealous? Besides, whomever he gave money to was none of her business. It wasn't like he took her money. Iris must be insane to act up in front of her.
