Chapter 3 Marrying Such a Handsome Guy?
- Dorothy couldn't help but chuckle at the interaction between the two of them.
- With a beaming smile, she grabbed Nikita's hand and placed it into Theo's larger hand.
- "Since you're both satisfied, let's hurry in and get your marriage certificate. I'll wait right here!" Dorothy replied cheerfully.
- Nikita felt a sudden warmth on the back of her hand. It was dry, scorching, and rough in texture, yet there was something about it that made her feel inexplicably flustered.
- She tried to pull her hand away, but his large hand only tightened its grip.
- Surprised, she looked up at the tall man beside her.
- Hadn't he just been cold and indifferent toward her?
- Theo didn't give her the chance to figure him out. The moment she glanced at him, his gaze had already shifted away.
- "Grandma, it's windy out here. Please wait in the car," Theo suggested, his tone polite.
- Dorothy was pleased by Theo's gentle compliance. She nodded her head in approval. As she was getting into the car, she turned back to remind him.
- "After you register your marriage, remember to transfer 100,000 dollars to Nikita. That was my promise!"
- With that, she got into the car.
- Since parking wasn't allowed at the courthouse entrance for long, the driver waited for Dorothy to settle in and then drove the car to the nearby parking lot.
- As soon as the car pulled away, Theo loosened his grip on Nikita's hand and took out a packet of sanitizing wipes. Carefully, he cleaned his fingers one by one.
- Theo's fingers were perfectly shaped. They glowed like polished ivory under sunlight.
- Even though he had a strange temper, Nikita couldn't help but marvel at his looks. His attractiveness didn't stop at his face—every part of him, every little detail, was so captivating.
- How could someone as gorgeous as him not have women lining up for him?
- While she was lost in thought, she suddenly felt his sharp gaze sweep over her.
- Theo thought to himself, This woman is greedy and shallow, but somehow she's got Grandma wrapped around her little finger. There's no way I'm going to marry someone like her.
- But if I don't go along with Grandma's wishes, she'll refuse to have her surgery. Since Grandma seems to like her, I might as well give her a chance.
- If she behaves and doesn't do anything over-the-top, spending a little money to have those people stop the endless rumors about my sexual orientation might not be so bad.
- "The Morrises do not divorce," Theo stated, maintaining a flat yet firm tone. "It's one of our family rules. I'm sure Grandma didn't mention that to you, did she? Now, do you still want to go through with this?"
- Nikita became anxious and admitted, "Your grandma never said that!"
- A sexy smirk spread on Theo's face.
- He asked, "Besides money, what else did she promise you?"
- Nikita hesitated for a moment before taking out her phone. She said, "Give me two minutes."
- With her left hand holding the phone, her right hand began to type furiously on the screen.
- The autumn wind was cold and dry, making her fingers a bit stiff.
- He glanced down at her. Her long, curved lashes fluttered like the wings of a butterfly in the wind. Her makeup-free face was clean and radiant.
- Occasionally, a gust of wind would sweep a strand of hair across her delicate jawline and reddening nose.
- Without even thinking, Theo shifted slightly. He positioned his body to block the wind from hitting her.
- Nikita sniffled and sped up her typing.
- "Alright, here it is. It's a bit rough since I rushed through it, but this is an electronic contract. Take a look. If it's fine, sign it before we go in."
- She raised her phone toward Theo. Her arm was slightly straining due to their height difference.
- Theo took the phone from her hand. The warmth of the phone made his fingertips tingle just a bit.
- He had expected it to be some kind of prenuptial agreement but was surprised to see an electronic loan agreement.
- It clearly detailed the loan amount, the repayment method, and the repayment period. The funniest part was that the marriage certificate was listed as collateral at the end.
- The borrower could replace the marriage certificate with a divorce certificate after paying off the loan.
- Theo was used to dealing with countless contracts and legal documents every day. This was without a doubt the crudest one he had ever seen, yet it was also oddly amusing.
