• Martha had heard the noises from her room. She didn't need anyone to tell her who had come visiting. It was just as she’d thought, just as she’d expected. She gave a light smirk as she put on her night robe before stepping out to meet Katrina at the door.
• Not much of a surprise; Katrina was still right there pouring out her heart, with tears flooding her eyes. Martha felt so much pity for her then. Poor girl must have been hurt so badly.
• As soon as Katrina spotted her, she paused all she was saying, giving her a loathing glare.
