Chapter 44 Family Obligation

• The moment Kristen's car drove out of sight, Noami kicked the wall angrily and slammed her fist against the brick wall, which hurt like hell and left a long bloody mark on her hand. She winced and cursed under her breath, pulling away the hand, the red blood coming in contact with her white blouse.
• She cringed slightly and grabbed a paper towel from the dispenser beside her coffee table and started dabbing at it, trying to wipe away the blood but there was no end to the bleeding.
• After cleaning her hand as best as possible, she slumped down on the sofa, closing her eyes, sighing deeply as she rested her head back, taking in the silence that engulfed her living room.
