• A huge cheer goes up when Janeen and I step out of the house onto the back patio, and I burst out laughing because I wasn’t expecting it. Dominic, surprised, gives a little cry and the crowd instantly bursts into a sorry little aww, which makes us all laugh again.
• It’s all a fuss after that, and I don’t really see what’s going on as I comfort Dominic, rocking him until he returns to his state of quiet alertness. He looks around at everything a little displeased, but no longer protesting.
