Chapter 8: Misunderstanding
- He started to leave the room when I called him again.
- "Adrian!" I said and he froze at his place. He didn't turn back.
- "Adrian
- ... Whatever happened right now... I hope that when you're alone you will think about it with your heart" I said almost crying at the nasty allegation.
- He didn't reply and went out. I got up but then he entered the room again.
- "You're going to stay here until everyone goes back home. This room is rented for you" he said and locked the door from outside.
- I went to the bed and tried to control my emotions.
- Why? Why am I always in the wrong? Why doesn't he trust me at all? What have I done? How can he say that...
- After about half an hour, the door opened.
- "Go home now
- ," Someone said. Probably, Adrian.
- I just took my bag and went out. He was not there, I guess he already left. No one was here. So, I went to my hotel. As soon as I entered, I laid on my bed and started to blame my fate.
- What did I do to be so embarrassed? What did I do to be responsible for the shit of others? What did I do to bear such insults?
- I don't know when I fell asleep. I woke up the next day and went to my office.
- I was at my office. I completed my work and just a few minutes later, I got a call.
- My mind stopped working when I saw the name 'Adrian' written over my phone.
- I slowly picked it up.
- "Marie, come to this hotel at 5
- ," he said."Why?" I asked.
- "It's related to work
- ," he said."So why didn't you tell me by my PA?" I enquired.
- "Because I want to meet the CEO
- , not the PA. Come without your PA" he said and cut the call.
- I thought for a moment and then I decided to go there. There was still time, so I did a little more work and then got ready and went there.
- His room number was also mentioned on the venue he sent on my number, so I reached his room and knocked.
- When I entered, I was surprised because there was no one.
- "Hello Marie
- ," he said."Why is no one else here??" I asked him.
- "Because I want to have a talk with you
- ," he said."I'm leaving
- ," I said and went towards the door. But the technology has ruined my life, he had the remote of the door. He locked it.
- Oh god. Who the hell invented remote controlled doors?
- "What do you want Mr. Adrian?" I asked him.
- "Marie
- ... I just want to say... I'm sorry" he said. I turned towards him."Sorry?"
- "Sorry for... Sorry for doubting you" he said.
- "I don't want you
- r sorry, let me go," I said."Please Mari-"
- "Adrian. You trust your officials more than me. So please" I said.
- "Marie please
- ," he said. I went near him to take the remote because now it can't be opened without it.
- He gave me the remote without any problems. That was quite good.
- When I started going past him, he took my hand.
- "Marie. Please I'm sorry" he said.
- "Leave my hand
- ," I said."Please... Marie.." he said and I could sense that he's really sorry. But what's the point?
- I started to take my hand when he pulled me and I landed on him.
- I wanted to go away but his one hand was on my head and the other on my back, hugging me.
- "Please Marie
- ," he said."Leave me... Adrian.." I said.
- "You're no longer mine
- ... But just for a moment, can you stay like this?" he asked, which was more like a request.I didn't reply. I didn't hug him back of course, but he hugged me so warmly. I remember the way he used to hug me before. It hasn't changed...
- After a while, he let me go.
- "You told me that I should think about it. I did, but why aren't you listening now?" he asked.
- "Adrian. We already have hundreds of misunderstandings. What if one increases?" I spoke.
- "It matters, Marie"
- "No Adrian
- ... Now I'm going" With this, I left the room. Tears were flowing continuously from my eyes. I wiped them. I didn't know what was going on. I also felt his sobbings. But why?
