Chapter 7
- Katherine, sitting in the wheelchair without makeup, looked pitiful. Anyone who saw her would feel a bit of sympathy, yet Joseph remained indifferent.
- Judging by her expression, she had already known everything.
- "Kathy, you..." Charlotte said, feeling sorry for her.
- "Gerold and Charlotte, please don't make it difficult for Joe anymore. I believe he has his own difficulties." After comforting the elders, Katherine turned to Joseph and said, "Joe, can we talk alone?"
- Although Katrina was young, she was very clever. She immediately pushed her parents towards the outside of the room.
- As she walked away, she didn't forget to give her brother a meaningful look. "Right, I just remembered, the Adams family sent over an invitation earlier. I'm going to take Mom and Dad to check it out. You guys go ahead."
- "But Kathy..."
- "Hey, don't worry, Joe's here. Let's go..."
- After the three left, tranquility was restored in the living room. For quite a while, no one spoke.
- In the end, it was Katherine who broke the silence first, "Joe, I heard from Luke that you found another doctor..."
- "Yes."
- "Is it Ms. Watson who is engaged to you?"
- "Yes."
- "Joe... Back then, I did it willingly. I never expected you to take responsibility for me. Even if I can't stand on my own for the rest of my life, it has nothing to do with you..." As she spoke, Katherine's voice choked up, her eyes welling up with tears.
- Seeing this, Joseph frowned, but his tone softened a lot. "Don't talk nonsense. It will be fine."
- "Thank you, Joe. It's all my fault for dragging you down. I'm sorry." Katherine continued to blame herself, her head still lowered.
- Unable to bear seeing her like this any longer, Joseph said, "Don't talk like this anymore. Rest well. I will bring her to see you tomorrow."
- After Joseph left, Katherine immediately became like a different person, her eyes fierce, without a trace of gentleness.
- She took out her phone and sent a Line message: "Help me look up someone."
- The other party quickly replied: "Who?"
- "Isabella Watson!"

- The next morning, as soon as Isabella went downstairs, she saw a delicate and delicious breakfast on the large dining table. Despite the variety, each type was just enough for one person.
- It seemed Joseph really didn't come home all night, and the thought that he didn't send any messages suddenly made Isabella lose her appetite.
- "Mrs. Parker, good morning. Breakfast has already been prepared. Please enjoy."
- Jenna interrupted her sorrow with a beaming smile.
- Isabella was still unaccustomed to this title, feeling somewhat embarrassed. But considering the strict rules of the large family, she just let it go.
- Thinking about changing the medicine, Isabella said to Jenna, "I'm going out for a while." Then, with a worried tone, she instructed, "If Mr. Parker asks what I'm doing, just say... just say..."
- Eason, as if he had perceived her concerns, immediately reassured her in a considerate manner, "Mr. Parker said that you are free to come and go as you please. There's no need to report everything to him."
- In an instant, a warm current surged in her heart, but the next second, Isabella warned herself not to be too narcissistic. Maybe he really didn't care?
- Even Isabella didn't notice that since she met Joseph, she started to become emotional. She never had the feeling when she was with Bruno before...

- Arriving at the agreed-upon café, Isabella immediately spotted a man in a suit and leather shoes, sitting upright by the window in the farthest corner. His figure seemed to resemble the man she had bumped into yesterday. Thus, she tentatively approached him. "Excuse me..."
- Upon hearing this, the man looked up, and Isabella was startled. What a handsome face!
- Compared to Joseph, he was naturally a bit inferior. However, his rare refined and calm demeanor still made Isabella couldn't help but sneak a few more glances at him.
- The man's lips curved into a pleasing arc. He silently pointed to the black plastic bag that had long been prepared on the table.
- Isabella understood and apologized as she sat down, "I'm really sorry. I was in such a rush yesterday that I bumped into you and even mistakenly took your medicine..."
- "It's alright." His tone was also humble and polite.
- Isabella took out an identical black plastic bag from her bag and handed it to the man, then sneakily took back the one on the table and stuffed it back into her bag.
- Thinking that the man must have also opened it, Isabella suddenly felt extremely embarrassed.
- The man seemed to share the same feeling, looking at her with a complex expression.
- Suddenly at a loss for words, both of them fell into silence.
- Isabella's face was slightly flushed. She felt uncomfortable all over and even felt as if the air around them had solidified.
- "You..."
- "I..."
- A moment later, they said in unison.
- Could it be more embarrassing?
- The man smiled slightly again, made a gentlemanly gesture, and said, "Lady first."
- At that moment, Isabella's phone rang. It was a text message from Luke, saying he would pick her up from Green Bay and take her to the Parker's old house immediately.
- Isabella breathed a sigh of relief inwardly, exclaiming that Luke was indeed her savior, and quickly got up to say goodbye.
- No sooner had she left than the man's assistant Cedric Graham came over, asking in confusion, "Mr. Arnot, why didn't you ask Ms. Watson to see Mr. Samuel just now?"
- Oliver Arnot watched Isabella's departing figure, smiling meaningfully, "No rush. We will see each other again soon."
