Chapter 50

• Ace had woken up, he noticed that the room was darker than it normally was. Slipping out of bed making sure he did not stir Finja, he began to look around their quarters. Finding nothing to alert him to danger, he placed his dagger away.
• Yawning, he slowly got himself dressed for the day's work. After he was dressed he leaned into the bed, kissing Finja on her forehead he whispered to her that he was leaving. And that he would return after the meeting and his scheduled patrol duty was complete.
• Pirapan, Viti and Payam stood in the darkness waiting for the shifter to leave. With a click of the main door, it had indicated to the trio that Finja’s chosen mate had left.
