Chapter 38 The Atonement

  • Now pronounced disability stood around him like the leafless trees smeared in darkness. Nobody was walking. Nobody was standing properly either. Nothing was moving anywhere. A subtle consciousness of mixed emotions - astonishment, sorrow and loneliness formed lumps inside the throat but wasn't able to manifest itself fully in the end. The divine revelation continued his speech above their heads. 'Those of you who have made it till here - the time for your final verdict has appeared. From here the path will divide into two. One goes towards heaven, the other towards hell. A sky-scraping wall separates the two. Positioned on the wall are my dedicated messengers since time immemorial. Judging the karma of your human births they will decide who chooses which path. The door of heaven would never open for those who've insulted me, been rude to others. But those who've never lost trust in me, have been honest throughout their lives, always cared for others shall always find place in heaven. I'll never inflict pain on them. For them endless fruits of happiness awaits you in my abode'.
  • 'But for them who have deferred from the way of truth, those who've been engaged in injustices in their lives on earth would be subjected to extreme misery. The bugle would be blown for them on the day of their final judgement. In line with the reverberations the sky would grow craters, the mountains would get destroyed to be replaced with mirages of desert. The hell would be waiting to take those sinners in. The sinners would remain for infinity in that hell'.
  • 'Upon blowing of bugle the second time the earth would tremble. The sinners would shake like leaves hearing the siren of their condemnation. At that time all memories would get deleted from their minds. Those who haven't sinned would hang around with happy minds, smiling. The sinners' faces would be hazy with dust and shrouded in darkness. In that day of judgement those who are handed over a list of their earthly deeds with right hand are permitted to go to heaven. But those with lists stamped by left hand on their backs would have no other choice other than hell. The ones condemned to hell would enter bewailing their loss. They'd have to enter the raging fire. Fire resistant clothes are made ready for them - so that they don't get consummated. Boiling water would be poured over their heads - enough to melt away their skin and flesh'.
