Chapter 2 Speak His Mind

  • “Yes, I am. The name's Elliott Lozano!” Elliott wore an expression of considerable pride as he spoke. “If I'm not mistaken, you're plagued by nightmares every night, waking up chilled and covered in cold sweat. And because of this illness, your menstrual cycle has become irregular, accompanied by unbearable pain. Am I right?”
  • To Elliott's surprise, Theresa's expression instantly turned icy cold as she forcefully slapped him across the face. “You lowlife, have you been stalking me?”
  • Elliott was immediately dumbfounded.
  • Traditional medicine practitioners were skilled in observation.
  • It involved discerning changes in a patient's condition by studying their countenance and physical state, which in turn provided insights into ailments of their internal organs.
  • Yet little did he expect her to think he had been stalking her.
  • Elliott felt a bit hurt and protested, “Ms. Theresa, we've never met before. Why would I stalk you? Besides, I doubt even your own mother knows about your illness. Even if I had been stalking you, it's not something I could discover in a short time!”
  • Theresa's eyebrows arched slightly as she asked in a cold voice, “If that's the case, then how did you find out?”
  • It was no wonder her reaction was so intense, as she was indeed the only one privy to this matter.
  • After falling ill, she had visited the hospital. However, the doctors had merely given her some imported modern medicine to take home. Unexpectedly, not only did her condition not improve after taking the medicine, it had actually worsened.
  • Gradually, it became a constant worry for her.
  • Elliott rubbed his handsome face, explaining, “I figured it out, of course. My mentor is a traditional medicine practitioner, and naturally, I am one too. I deduced it through observing your energy. What's so strange about that?”
  • “Observing by energy?” Theresa asked, her face full of disbelief.
  • She wasn't unfamiliar with doctors, but the idea that one could discern a person's physical condition with just a few glances seemed a bit too extraordinary.
  • Moreover, no matter how she looked at it, the man before her didn't seem like a miracle doctor at all, but a pervert.
  • “Forget it. Since you don't believe me, perhaps it's best if you leave.”
  • After speaking, Elliott turned around and headed toward the house.
  • A hint of struggle flashed across Theresa's face as she looked at Elliott's retreating figure. In the end, she shouted, “Stop right there!”
  • “Is there anything else you need, Ms. Theresa?”
  • Elliott paused, turning to look at Theresa. His gaze kept wandering over her black silk attire.
  • “Is your medical skill truly comparable to that of Dr. Albus?” Theresa asked.
  • “Don't seek someone's help if you don't trust them. Since you don't believe me, it's useless no matter what I say, don't you think?”
  • Taking a deep breath, Theresa made a swift decision in her heart. “All right, I'll trust you this once! As long as you cure my grandfather's illness, I'll accept that arranged marriage!”
  • Her grandfather's illness couldn't be neglected any longer. At this point, there were no better alternatives available. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
  • However, Theresa didn't expect Elliott to actually shake his head at that moment. “I'm not going!”
  • “Why?” Theresa's expression changed.
  • “You just slapped me, have you forgotten already? Do you think I have no self-respect? Do you think I'll come and go as you command? What do you take me for?”
  • Elliott looked at the three individuals with a defiant gaze.
  • Theresa was so furious that her delicate body trembled uncontrollably. Elliott cast a glance in her direction, which made her think he looked like a creep.
  • However, despite the anger in her heart, she was in a position where she needed help, so she had no choice but to swallow her pride. She said reluctantly, “I'm sorry!”
  • After she spoke, she secretly pledged in her heart that if he failed to cure her grandfather's illness, she would torment him to death.
  • “That's more like it.”
  • Elliott nodded. He wasn't the type to be unforgiving, so he followed the three of them to the car.
  • The bodyguard swung the car door open, and just as Theresa was about to step inside, a figure darted past her and took a seat right there.
  • It was none other than Elliott.
  • Theresa was so infuriated that she clenched her teeth. This guy is truly despicable!
  • Despite feeling incredibly frustrated, Theresa didn't let it show at all and promptly sat in the car as well.
  • As soon as she did, an aura of danger radiated from her. She fixed her gaze on Elliott, her eyes filled with menace as she warned, “You better be able to cure my grandfather's illness!”
  • A smile tugged at the corner of Elliott's lips. “Don't worry. You can't escape this arranged marriage!”
  • “Drive. Let's go home!”
  • After giving instructions to the bodyguard in the front row, Theresa leaned back and closed her eyes to rest.
  • They journeyed in silence.
  • When they entered the city, towering skyscrapers could be seen outside the window. The streets were bustling with constant streams of cars and pedestrians.
  • Most significantly, it was summer. The girls were dressed in shorts and mini-skirts, generously flaunting their long legs, which left Elliott utterly dazzled.
  • “Is this the city? The streets are filled with legs!” Elliott couldn't help but exclaim.
  • Upon hearing this, Theresa cast a disdainful glance at Elliott. What a naive and lecherous fool he is!
  • Elliott seemed to have caught Theresa's gaze. He turned to her, his eyes fixed on the black stockings adorning her legs. With a smile, he complimented, “Ms. Theresa, I must say, your legs are the most attractive I've ever seen!”
  • Theresa's face instantly turned icy. She warned, “Sc*mbag, if you dare to leer at me again, I'll gouge your eyes out!”
  • Elliott seemed to be unfazed. “Although your legs are quite perfect and wearing stockings makes you incredibly attractive, these stockings are excessively tight. They're not beneficial for your blood circulation. As a doctor, I feel it's necessary to remind you. It would be better to take these stockings off.”
  • The two bodyguards in the front row were taken aback. This young man sure knows how to handle situations. He's not afraid to speak his mind! He actually asked Ms. Theresa to remove her stockings.
  • Theresa was universally recognized as the renowned ice queen in the business world of Hofcaster.
  • Ordinary people wouldn't dare to flirt with her, let alone summon the courage to sneak a glance at her. Yet, Elliott had fearlessly drawn close to her without a care for his life.
  • Theresa's bodyguards had encountered all sorts of people, but it was their first time encountering someone as eccentric as Elliott.
  • They exchanged glances and realized that young people were fearless.
  • Sure enough, Theresa's expression darkened, and she wanted to give the man another slap.
  • Elliott reacted even faster and retorted, “If you dare to hit me again, you can figure out how to deal with your grandfather's illness yourself!”
