Chapter 29 Ash's Pov

• Ash's POV
• I watched as Riley stormed off to the guest room in anger. Maybe I never should have brought up the fact that the contract would benefit her. If I was never going to be fully honest with her regarding it then I should never have brought it up. I understand perfectly well why she's angry, but something about her anger did not sit well with me. It made me annoyed. Irritated? I could not place the feeling but it was something highly unpleasant.
• I collapsed on the couch with a sigh. I should not be feeling things for Riley. I should not even be trying to step up and protect her from what was going to destroy her, I shouldn't but still, against all sound reasoning, against the warnings coming from my head, I decided to go with my heart.
