Chapter 21 Rumor Has It(1)

  • As the sun's rays pierced through my curtains, I woke up feeling restless, tossing and turning in discomfort. The blaring sound of the alarm made it even worse. I couldn't bear it any longer. Desperately trying to avoid the sunlight, I struggled against the weight of his body pinning me down, his strong arms pulling me closer into his embrace. I could feel the warmth of his breath tickling my ear, accompanied by the soft snores escaping his lips. Why did I keep subjecting myself to this? Why did I allow myself to be entangled with him, only to end up flustered and worked up whenever he was near? It was painfully evident how he saw me—as a temporary escape from his glamorous yet miserable life. Letting out a sigh, I decided to check my phone. Slowly rising from the bed, my hair a tangled mess, I frantically searched for my phone. But as I stood up, my head started spinning, reminding me of the many beer cans we had consumed while watching the football match yesterday. I turned to face him—there he lay in my bed, naked, his body exposed from beneath the blanket. I observed as he lazily scratched his face and rolled over. His hand reached out to grab me, but upon realizing I wasn't there, he slowly opened his heavy eyes. "What time is it?" Irook mumbled, his voice filled with drowsiness.
  • "6:30 AM," I replied in a curt tone. Mr. Wi rubbed his eyes and stretched, then attempted to lean in and kiss me on the cheek. Reacting swiftly, I pushed him away and shook my head, whispering, "Let's not make this more complicated than it is. After all, this is only fun for you."
  • Irook chuckled slightly and pulled me in closer to give me a kiss on the cheek. His touch was gentle, yet filled with an underlying electric current that sent a shiver down my spine.
