Chapter 6
- Nerissa POV
- Hearing Annaya’s words made my blood go cold.
- Of all the people she tells me to seek Hilda for help? This cannot be right!
- I looked over at Alex and Allister, noticing their grim faces, as they didn’t like that thought that Annaya had suggested.
- Turning my head, looking at Annaya, I asked her; “How can we find Azria? The last time I have encountered her was by pure accident while I was held in the Dark Fae World.”
- She shrugged her shoulders as she said; “It is impossible to know that answer since Oracles are known never to stay in one place for too long.”
- Not liking the answer, I tried to push the subject a little more; “But there must be some way to find her or call her or something?”
- She looked at me with saddened eyes as she said; “It’s more like they come to you than that you can find them.”
- I looked at her, confused; “What do you mean?”
- “They come to those that are in need of their guidance and help. It is not like we can go and search for them so easily. It might take too long until we find Azria.” Annaya said.
- “Great,” I mumbled, feeling on each of my shoulders both Alex's and Allister’s hands.
- I heard Alex's voice sounding soothing as he said; “Don’t worry, love, we will find a way even if I have to fly over every city, village, town, world, to find her.”
- Allister nodded his head, agreeing with Alex as he added to me; “We just need to be a little patient, but just like Alex said, everything will be alright.”
- I felt so useless and lost as I didn’t know what to do. Nodding my head at their words, looking down into my lap.
- Annaya slowly stood up; “I will try to find if there is anything more useful that we could use or do to get this situation back to normal.”
- Her words keep repeating in my head…’ find the Oracle Azria, as she is the one to help you with giving you more answers…. seek Hilda’s help…’
- ‘Seek Hilda’s help!’ The thought repeated, making me snap my head just in time to look at Annaya right before she was about to leave the room; “Annaya!”
- Annaya stopped by the door and turned around towards me.
- I stood up, shaking both hands of my mates off of my shoulders as I scrambled towards her, knowing all too well that they would not approve or like what I was about to ask her.
- “Hilda… you said to ask her for help. Are you sure about it?” I asked, feeling a little out of breath, while the pain in my chest slightly intensified.
- Before she could respond, we heard two growls coming from angry Allister and Alexander.
- “Out of the question!” Alex roared in anger as at the same time Allister said; “Over my dead body you’ll ever go near that wrench!”
- Feeling exhausted as I had no energy to fight both of them, I looked at them with a determined look in my eyes as I said; “I understand both of you, but you also have to understand our situation here. If asking her is our only option to save you, then rest assured that I’m more than ready to do it!”
- Alex stepped towards me; “Nerissa… love… I know you’re scared and wish that nothing happens to us…” he said pointing towards himself and Allister who was standing there, silent, raking his hair with his fingers while taking deep breaths, trying to calm down. He continued; “But like you love us, we both love you and care for you the same way. We never want anything to happen to you, and we would like you to give us a chance to find Oracle rather than to gamble with Hilda… you know that Hilda cannot be trusted, love, just look what she did to you the last time you were captured in the Dark Fae World!”
- I looked at him with gentle eyes as I understand his words were honest and meant only well for me. I said; “I know, Alex, but if she is our only way to get out of this curse and to save us all, then I don’t see any other way or reason why not to go and ask her at least.”
- A snort came from Allister, who looked at me with mixed emotions, such as anger that was most evident. He said; “Seriously?! You would rather go back and risk Goddess knows what just to hear her reject your plea for help!”
- Feeling annoyed by his discouragement, I stepped away from Annaya and Alex, looking at Allister with my narrowed eyes as I said; “At least I will not feel so useless by doing nothing and can actually try to do something to fix the mess that only I am to be blamed for because I couldn’t choose between either one of you two and now we are all in this giant mess called Hell!!”
- He looked at me wide-eyed as his anger vanished. “Nerissa…” he took a step towards me, trying to wrap his arms around me to comfort me but I didn’t let him. I didn’t let him, because I didn’t deserve to be comforted.
- Because of me, their lives are threatened, because I was too stubborn, too weak to choose between them! No! I didn’t deserve their love, comfort… it was all my fault.
- Allister was as stubborn as a mule. He moved so fast stepping in front of me and wrapped me in his arms, pressing me tight into his warm, hard chest.
- I tried to push him away, but it was like trying to move a mountain as he didn’t move even an inch. Eventually, I stopped trying to push him away and leaned into him, accepting his warm, strong embrace that made me feel so safe, loved, and warm.
- He placed a kiss on top of my head, speaking softly into my hair; “Little one, no one is thinking you’re useless. If anything, we find you brave and strong.”
- Slowly, I looked up into his beautiful blue eyes, whispering; “I’m sorry.”
- He arched his eyebrow as he looked at me with those gentle blue eyes, asking; “Why are you sorry for, little one?”
- “For being so difficult to you and Alex. You both deserve better than me.” I answered as I looked away, whispering.
- His fingers grabbed my chin, gently pulling my eyes to meet his as he said; “Never say anything like that again, Nerissa. You are our mate and even if we had the option to choose another, we would both always choose you!”
- I could hear the honesty in his voice by his words as his eyes were watching me aflame, making me speechless and breathless at the same time.
- “He is right, love. There will always be you for both of us no matter what.” Alex said, watching us from the same place where I left him.
- I looked at them both, feeling love for each one of them, thinking to myself how I got so lucky to be mated to these two. My eyes silently pleaded with them both as I said, still wrapped in Allister’s arms; “Then please, let me ask Hilda if that is our only hope to live our lives together and go so far as to even plan on a future together. Don’t you both want that?”
- Allister tensed as I could feel his body reaction while Alex took a deep breath, letting his breath out loudly giving me a silent answer as he nodded his head in agreement.
- “Fine… but just so you know that you're playing dirty and you’re unfair, but if that is your wish…” Allister exhaled deeply, continuing to speak; “I’ll do it for you.”
- A wide smile appeared on my lips when I heard his words.
- Going on my tiptoes, I pecked his lips; “Thank you, I know you hate that idea but it means a lot to me that you’re willing to go with it for me.”
- “Don’t think you will get away with it so easy,” Allister said with a smirk showing on his lips.
- I looked at him confused while he added; “I’ll show you later when we get to our bedroom.”
- “Your impossible,” I mumbled, making him chuckle, while Alex smirked, shaking his head.
- “Impossible handsome, I know.” Winking he added while I giggled.
- He let go of me, and I walked towards Annaya, who watched our exchange in silence. “I’m sorry for leaving you waiting.”
- She smiled at me and waved her hand away; “No need to be. It is good to see you three so happy and content.”
- I looked at my mates, smiling as it was true. We were happy regardless of the curse.
- “You were saying that the other option is to find Hilda and ask her to help us, right?” I started, as she nodded her head.
- “Yes, but…” She started to say, but I cut her off; “Do you believe that if she agrees to help us to lift this curse, will it work?”
- “She is strong as her magic is strong, and I believe that she is capable of doing that, but you have to be careful and vary of her,” Annaya said.
- Taking in everything that I have learned today, I looked at Annaya and Alex, and Allister, saying; “We should do it. We should go and meet with Hilda and ask her help rather than waste time on a chase that may have no end and could cost us our future together.”
