• The following morning found me rejuvenated and prepared to begin the day. After brushing my teeth, I had a hot bath and proceeded to the dining room for breakfast. Stella had already set the table ready with a boiling bowl of chicken soup.
• While having my first spoonful, I saw a notification on my phone. My heart missed a beat when I read my dad’s message: “ARIEL, YOU ARE DISOWNED”. The feeling of fear washed over me but then the previous day’s happenings flashed back in my mind. I knew what tricks she was playing on me being her step daughter.
