Chapter 10 Saved a Cutie
- Celia's eyes went wide and she clasped her mouth shut. Slowly, she moved toward the direction of the sound. On the balcony around the corner, an old man stood with her back facing her. He was pinning a boy down aggressively and sealing his mouth shut with tape. There was a sack beside him. Obviously, that was for the boy.
- They're going to kidnap him? Celia's heart sank. She was worried for the boy who was struggling. She wasn't going to let him get taken away just like that. His parents would be worried sick. A missing child can ruin a whole family. She looked around for a weapon and saw a sharp sign lying around. Quickly, she picked it up and took a deep breath.
- Before the kidnapper could do anything, she slammed the sign down on his back. Pain seared up to the kidnapper's head and he fell down, but Celia showed no mercy. She brought the sign down a second time. While the man was on the ground writhing in pain, she pulled the boy up and ran to the corridor.
- Knowing that he was saved, the boy held Celia's hand tightly and followed her.
- Even though they had returned to the crowd, Celia was still worried. "You have to come with me, boy. We need to hide." She noticed a storeroom and brought the boy into it with her. Then, she closed the door, locked it, and held a finger against her lips, telling the child to be quiet.
- The boy blinked at her and nodded. Celia pointed at the tape on his mouth, telling him she would take it off. The boy tore the tape off himself, however. It looked a little painful, but he didn't flinch.
- Celia then looked at the boy closely, and his looks captivated her. He was about four years old, but he was absolutely adorable. His features were beautiful. Even though he had a bit of baby fat, she knew he would grow up to be gorgeous.
- The boy was staring at her as well, and he looked stunned. Wow. The lady who saved me is pretty. "You were so brave out there, pretty lady. Thanks for saving me," the boy whispered.
- "So how did you get yourself kidnapped?" asked Celia curiously.
- "I got lost, and then that jerk grabbed me all of a sudden," the boy said angrily.
- Then he was lucky I saw him. If he was taken away, his family would worry. "It's all right now. I'll take you back home, I promise," said Celia.
- The boy stared at the lady before him, and his heart started thumping faster and faster. For some reason, he felt a little bond forming between them. Oh, she looks just like the woman I want to be my mother.
- Celia noticed him staring, and for some reason, she patted his head. Oh, he's so cute.
- When the lady patted his head, a warm feeling bubbled within the heart of young Jeremy Spencer. It felt like he was surrounded by the warmth of his mother. Oh, I really want her to be my mommy, he thought. "Can I use your phone for a bit? I need to call Daddy." Jeremy extended his hand.
- Celia took her phone out, but she smiled dryly. "Sorry. Phone's dead."
- Just then, the PA announced an emergency notice, "Jeremy Spencer? Jeremy Spencer if you hear this, please come to the reception immediately. Your family is searching for you."
- Celia quickly asked, "Is your name Jeremy Spencer?"
- Jeremy nodded. "Yes."
- "I'll take you to the counter." Celia held the boy's hand and slowly opened the door. When she confirmed that the coast was clear, she left the storeroom.
- As they walked, a sense of happiness welled up in Jeremy's heart. He really wanted this lady to hold his hand forever.
- A slender silhouette hurried into the museum. This man was none other than Hugo. He was even more spectacular than he used to be, but this outstanding man's eyes sank in worry. Fifteen minutes ago, his bodyguard told him that his son went missing. When the PA made the announcement, his heart skipped a beat.
- A group of panicked bodyguards stood around the counter. It was then the leader of the bodyguards noticed that a lady in the crowd was leading a boy over to them. Overcome with relief, he rushed ahead. "I was worried sick, Master Jeremy." He hugged the boy, tearing up. "Where were you?"
- "Sorry, mister. I ran around." The boy said, "But I'm alright now."
- Celia thought this man was the boy's father, but then she realized he was just the bodyguard. No wonder he looks so regal even when he's just a young boy. "The boy was almost kidnapped. Fortunately, I stepped in," said Celia.
- Panic and fear filled Chris Zwei's eyes, and he quickly said, "Thank you for your help, miss. Master Jeremy owes it to you."
- "Oh, it's alright. I was happy to help. Oh, I should go now." Time to meet up with Michelle and Nelly.
- The boy held her hand and stared at her. "Will we meet again, pretty lady?"
- Celia paused for a moment and crouched down with a smile. "I don't really know."
- "You saved my life. I'm going to tell Daddy to thank you personally," said the boy seriously.
- Celia would never ask for a reward just for helping, so she shook her head. "It's alright. All that matters is you're safe."
- The boy told the receptionist, "Can you give me a pen and paper, miss?"
- The receptionist did as she was told, and he gave the items to Celia. "Can you give me your number? I want to be your friend."
- Celia couldn't say no, not when the boy was looking so serious. She took the paper and wrote down her number. Just when she was about to write her name, Nelly came over and hugged her leg. "Let's go, missy! I want to see some dinos."
- She couldn't write her name in time, but she handed the paper back to the boy. Gently, she said, "This is my number. Call me if you need anything."
- The boy took the paper and nodded. He looked at the girl hugging Celia, and he asked, "Is she your daughter?"
- Celia shook her head. "She's my friend's daughter. I'm still single."
- Delight filled the boy's eyes. She's single, so Daddy has a chance! "See you, pretty lady." Jeremy waved her goodbye.
- Celia had just rendezvoused with Michelle when a certain man came to the reception. Worried, he said, "Jeremy!" He then hugged the boy tightly.
- Surprised, the boy hugged him as well. "Daddy!"
