Chapter 55 A New Beginning

• Stephen walks down the hallway towards Anna's room, his footsteps echoing in the silence of the now quiet house. Everybody was too traumatized to speak or act, it was a Sunday and his parents who were quite religious had no plans of attending the Sunday service, note like it bothered him, he didn’t believe in the concept of God anyway.
• Stephen stops in front of her door and takes a deep breath before knocking gently. He can't help but wonder how Anna was feeling after everything that happened. She was probably traumatized by learning of a plan to kill her child, a baby she had carried for four months. He expected her to be pretty shaken up by that. After a moment, Anna's voice calls out, giving him permission to enter.
• He steps into the room, taking in the sight of Anna sitting on the edge of her bed as usual, her face buried in her hands. “Hey, I just wanted to come up here and apologize to you for all the drama down there moments back. I know it must have got you panicking, and I must admit it was scary even for me. I never thought Jenny could do a thing like that,” he said calmly
