• I fall asleep on the couch later, after I finish placing all my orders and giving Christian’s credit card one hell of a workout. Frankie and Nico pretend not to notice that I’m unwilling to go back to my room, letting me curl up on the couch under the little grey throw-blanket. I don’t talk to them about it, but I want to see Christian when he comes home. Not because I want to resume our fight but…
• Well, just to see him, I guess. To assure myself that he’s okay, that he, too, has cooled down.
• I wake up the minute that the door opens again, of course – I was waiting for it, even while unconscious.
