• "Are you anxious my love?" Asked Soma at Sky as they lay together in her bedroom. His concern deepened after the meeting with her grandparents earlier. Payne excused himself to speak with Moriarty, while Gale, seated in a chair by Sky's bed, was engrossed in a book.
• Soma and Gale both sensed Skylark's distress and moved closer to comfort her. Trembling, she fought against the waves of fear that threatened to overwhelm her.
• "Skylark, if you're in pain or feeling horrible, talk to us, darling, don't keep it all to yourself," Gale urged, setting his book on the nightstand before lying down beside her.
