• They stopped in front of the long brass desk where two women dressed in sharp black suits were checking in guests. It had to be packed, considering the holiday, but there was no sign of an unruly loitering crowd.
• There was only the muted hush of soft music, the faint clinking of glasses, and low voices drifting from the interior.
• Their table was waiting for them, and to Megan's delight, they’d reserved one of the booths. She didn’t want to be outside around other people, let alone sit elbow-to-elbow at the long white sofa lining the perimeter of the room.
