• Roger Price was a natural when it came to charm anymore. He worked fine behind the counter, from taking orders to billing them. Carmen, on the other hand, took care of the tasks that her dad couldn’t keep up with anymore. She tackled the cleaning and took charge of delivering the online orders. Living in the small town of Asheville had its perks, and Carmen knew all the time-saving shortcuts to reach the nearby addresses, thanks to practically growing up on those very streets.
• Carmen would be lying if she said she hadn’t thought once about Michigan or the Logans. But she was also fully aware—and pretty darn sure—that they were old chapters in her life that she didn’t need to revisit.
