Chapter 9
- I told her I was going to sleep in the sitting room, but she refused and said she couldn't sleep in her room alone. I agreed to sleep on the floor while she sleeps on the bed. She said okay. I was surprised at how she readily agreed to that. That was when I knew she didn't have any plans and that I was safe. We both didn't sleep early and talked about funny moments we've both had these past few years. We talked for minutes before I slept off. I slept peacefully, knowing nothing would happen, but it was a lie. I never knew it was a trap.
- Sophie's POV
- I've been trying to sleep, but I couldn't. I've been having thoughts on how I was going to tell Greg about traveling next week. I wasn't worried about that alone; I was worried about how he was doing. I haven't stopped sending texts to him. I've been apologizing over what I said and how it wouldn't happen again. He has been reading them but hasn't replied. I was really happy that he was reading them. At least he knows I'm really sorry, and it's a sign he's alive and doing well somewhere.
