- "Are you ready?" I asked Ophelia as we stepped onto the threshold of the large hall which was decorated expensively and magnificently with elegantly-clothed people who had identical plastic smiles and airs of haughtiness surrounding them.
- In response, she gazed at me and winced before she nodded. I had to suppress the urge to chuckle as her grip on my hand got harder.
