• On one hand, one of them was literally yanking me backward with my hair, in the guise of wanting my hair to look perfect and enthralling, while on the other, some sharp instruments–but not too sharp, were being shoved under my nail plate, and into my nail bed.
• How the hell do rich people live like this? It felt like my toes were about to be yanked off my feet but I couldn't utter a peep, so I just withstood the pain by pursing my lips into a thin line.
