Chapter 12

• I glanced nervously at the Mercedes parked in front of the house. It's not every day you get to lie to your granny face and leave with an unknown person.
• But today I'm leaving home to go live with a total stranger.
• In my opinion, granny would disown me as her granddaughter, she'd tell me in her own words, "None of the Parkers bring shame to their family," so here I am, clutching my box handle, my excited friend who doesn't know the truth of what's going on and my granny who for some reason seems to know more than she's letting me know escorted me to the car.
