Chapter 8

He took another step forward, making her dig her back into the countertop. Her breasts were a few inches away from his abs as he towered over her, a couple of inches. Dipping his head, his algid eyes looked squarely at her, causing her to stifle a shudder.
"Don't you dare act like you know me. Those people you just mentioned, they're cowards. I'm J.K, I don't hide behind my fears, I don't even have fears. I instill terror into the hearts of the most powerful men out there," he moved his face even closer to hers as he let out in an icy cold, harsh whisper.
She clenched the bottle of red wine in her hands as though her life depended on it, trying to stymie the chills that threatened to run down her spine as his intoxicating scent clogged her head, making her mind foggy.
