Chapter 61

  • She studied me for a brief moment, and I feared I’d said something wrong “You are so oblivious of a lot of things, Aria,” she sighed “and I blame Slade for not letting you in on the affairs of this pack. Once you get out of here, I’ll see to it that you are more involved in the pack activities. It’s not in my place to choose a luna for Slade but the moon goddess gave you that position the moment she mated you to him. You both are two halves of a whole, and I hope Slade realizes it soon,”
  • My mouth opened and snapped shut without forming the right words to say to her. Before I’d known about their existence, I couldn’t understand why I reacted to Slade the way I did, and it took me many days to finally come to terms with it and the fact that I’d never be able to change the way I feel towards him. I didn’t think I had a wolf all my life, but I did, and my wolf had spoken to Slade even before she did me. I wonder what other things I would discover about myself if given the opportunity.
  • “You don’t have to say anything, Ria,” she added, obviously sensing my discomfort with the topic. “You know, I always hoped for a second child, a daughter,” she smiled and rose to her feet, quickly changing the topic.
