• On that beautiful summer afternoon in 2007, the heat was immense. It was a good 32 degrees, which was very rare here in Wyoming, even though it was July, the height of summer.
• Wyoming is one of the 50 states in the United States of America.
• -Get out of that water Evy, soon your skin will be wrinkled, just like an old lady.
• Evelyn Carter, better known as Evy, was a 15-year-old girl, but her body was so developed, she passed for an 18-year-old girl. Wherever she went, the boys looked at her, once, twice, three times, as many times as necessary, to keep her image engraved in her mind.

• Nicholas Carter was the father, a fearless, boastful, haughty, arrogant man, master of his own nose, he took extreme pleasure in commanding. • His parents were caretakers from a farm about a mile from the Carter farm.
• They were honest and hardworking people.
• He never noticed that Evy looked at him with disgust or pity, on the contrary, she always gave him a shy smile when she passed him on the street or at school.
