Chapter 8 Ariana Hits the Servant

  • At Martha's instigation, the Ransom family's servants would all use Jared's name as leverage to bully Ariana.
  • Ariana sidestepped a rag, narrowing her eyes and exuding a dangerous glare.
  • She strode up to the servant, delivering a sharp slap.
  • The imprint of five fingers appeared on the servant's face, her eyes wide in disbelief.
  • "You actually dared to hit me?" the servant said.
  • "What's wrong with hitting you?" Ariana interrupted coldly, her tone chilling.
  • "Consider yourself lucky I'm only hitting you. I'm the master of this house. If I want someone gone, they're gone, and that includes your so-called master," Ariana said coldly.
  • The servant was so shocked she couldn't find her voice. How could Ariana be so assertive instead of the pushover everyone thought she was?
  • Ariana said, "What? Think carefully before you speak to me, or have you decided you don't want this job anymore?"
  • She emphasized the last few words with a pointed tone.
  • The servant was so frightened she immediately apologized, abandoning her earlier arrogance. Tears and snot streamed down her face as she said, "I'm sorry. I realize my mistake. I'll prepare your breakfast right away."
  • Ariana glanced at the servant's panicked retreat, rolling her eyes.
  • As expected, a bully only fears those who stand up to them.
  • After Ariana finished her breakfast, a servant approached her politely and said, "Miss Ransom, the family driver took Miss Elaine Ransom to school and hasn't returned yet, so you..."
  • She implied that there was no car to take Ariana to school.
  • In other words, the entire Ransom family was focused on nurturing and catering to Elaine, while Ariana was treated like nothing.
  • Ariana scoffed, grabbed the helmet from the table, and said, "Perfect, I didn't want to take the ride anyway."
  • With that, she donned her helmet and riding gloves, straddled a pink scooter at the door, and sped away.
  • Not long after she left, Martha emerged from behind the door, her gaze towards Ariana filled with malice.
  • She said, "Why does she seem like a different person?"
  • Perhaps the previous approach of flattery and sabotage was no longer effective. I need a new strategy for dealing with Ariana.
  • With that thought, Martha took out her phone and made a call. "Find out everything about who Ariana met yesterday and where she went..."
  • The pink scooter made a sharp turn at the entrance of Carlison High School.
  • Ariana dismounted, her short t-shirt riding up as she moved, revealing a slim, delicate waist.
  • The black shorts showcased her long, slender legs, making a striking impression.
  • The gazes of everyone present were instantly drawn to her.
  • Ariana removed her helmet, letting her dark hair cascade gracefully through the air, exuding an effortless allure.
  • Her petite face was adorned with delicately arranged features, and there was a hint of boldness in her expression, both beautiful and strikingly confident.
  • The onlookers gasped in awe.
  • "Wow, we have such a beauty in our school? Who is she?"
  • The male students started gossiping, but suddenly they caught sight of the name tag on Ariana's chest, their expressions shifting.
  • "No way... She's Ariana? She's actually this stunning?"
  • "Elaine doesn't even compare standing next to her, right? I've made up my mind. I'm voting for Ariana as the campus queen."
  • Ariana had grown accustomed to being the center of attention.
  • The difference was that the scornful gazes of the past had now transformed into ones of admiration and awe.
  • "She's just a pretty face. Someone like Ariana, a problem girl, can't hold a candle to Elaine."
  • "Exactly, Elaine is a top-notch student. Ariana is just a complete waste of space."
  • Behind Ariana, Elaine's friends glared in indignation, defending her.
  • "Don't say that. She's my sister." Elaine generously defended Ariana, causing her friends to feel even more pity for her.
  • "Elaine, you're just too kind. Ariana is hopeless. Why do you still stand up for her?"
  • "Good thing campus heartthrob knows what he wants. No matter how hard Ariana tries to cling to him, his heart is set only on you!"
  • Elaine's lips curled up in satisfaction, but she quickly covered her mouth, pretending to be shy.
  • Elaine said, "Oh, come on, Daniel and I are just friends."
  • At that moment, a group of boys nearby were discussing.
  • "Wow, Ariana is stunning! I've decided to pursue her."
  • "Aren't you chasing Elaine?"
  • "Come on, who wouldn't prefer the prettier one? Compared to Ariana, Elaine just seems too ordinary."
  • At the boys' comments, Elaine's forced smile stiffened on her face, anger choking her.
  • Why? Just because that bitch put on a pair of shorts to show off, she thinks she can threaten my spot as the campus queen?
  • Suddenly, Elaine's phone buzzed, a message popping up on the screen that made her smirk darkly. Just wait, Ariana. Daniel will be back at school this afternoon.
  • On the school rooftop, Ariana leaned against the railing, holding a college application form, the choices on it already modified.
  • She had changed her chosen school from a distant northern university to Reyan Medical School.
